A. Video; Filtered to remaining SSS members, Accelerator, Yamashita, Ai;
I'm sure everyone's noticed by now how many people are in comas. I've got an idea how it happened, but.. I have no idea how to fix it. The best we can do now is to hope that we can find the Programmer and stop him from taking the rest of us. I had an idea a while ago that I talked over with Accelerator, then I spoke to that Ai NPC about it so she's been working on it. She's almost done writing what we need, so I need to talk to all of you in person. SSS room, one hour. I've texted the password to the phones of the two people I could find that weren't comatose.

action; meeting
[ Yuri's sitting on her desk instead of in the big imposing chair that she normally ran these meetings from. There were people who weren't in the SSS here anyway, it wasn't really a formal meeting. Despite that, it was all business. ]

Welcome to < Operation: Final Boss >. [ She knew the name was corny, but it was her attempt at finding something, anything that they could take humor in so that they didn't all feel like it was hopeless. Because it wasn't, because they were going to win. Yuri hoped, anyway. She crosses her legs, both hands on the desk by her side as she speaks, her expression not showing any mirth, real or false. ]

We've all lost a lot. I'm not saying that this is going to solve all of our problems, and if you think the best way for you to get out of this is to accept your life and disappear, then don't feel as though anyone is going to blame you for that. The choice is yours, and you're welcome to do that. But I want you all to listen to this idea first, and those who want to stay can stay and fight.

[ And with that, Yuri proceeds to explain the plan. The last time she had to go through this, she went off on her own. She'd tried to protect everyone without help, and it nearly caused everyone to fail. She wouldn't pull away from everyone this time. She would be their leader and she would be there fighting with them this time. That was the only way they could win..

{{ Feel free to comment this post for either Yuri OR Ai, as both are at the meeting. Questions, concerns, conversations.. anything can go. The log will go up as described on Tuesday the 12th! }}
tenminutes: (I'll still laugh at your pain.)
[personal profile] tenminutes

[ There were a great many things that Yurippe was willing to do. Being a guy wasn't one of them, however..

Being Accelerator and goofing around with it fell into the willing group. Mostly because it was amusing as hell, and acting out after she'd had a somewhat.. emotional situation before was something she was known for doing. Which means that the video feed is going to turn on and instead of Yurippe, Accelerator's face appears with a suave smirk and his hair slicked back like he was some kind of playboy. She even got a flower from around campus. The fact that it was from her username on the network was probably the only thing that would give it away, since it wasn't as though she knew how to sign onto anyone else's account. ]

Hello ladies, gentlemen. I, the great, powerful, and grumpy Accelerator-sama, have decided to grace you with my presence!

[ "Accelerator" holds out the flower as though she's offering it to everyone, then puts it between her lips like she's ready to do the tango or something ridiculous, getting out of the chair that she was sitting in and backing up to do a sexy dance... but then the camera falls over and there's a lot of crashing noises and possibly an explosion? Then the video feed cuts out. Oops. ]

Found iiiiiit~!

Heh, this glitch has been a lot of trouble, hasn't it? I lost my phone for a while and was unable to contact any of you before now, but I've been looking for the source area of the glitches. It probably won't help me get there, but if aaaanyone's seen one area more than any others that seems to be affected, please let me know! It's likely there will be a number of shadows there.

I've discovered a hint for those looking for something to drink. If you boil any liquid, it seems to become ice cold water. Getting the fire to work properly can be tricky, but it's important to keep hydrated, buddies!

I tried to clear a few areas individually, but it seems like the glitch redevelops itself unless I can find the source. Also, there are no unaffected areas, which means that the Programmer and Fantoche should be locatable as well. I would appreciate it if anyone who finds them aims to capture. I can fix Fantoche-san and return him to his intended self if we can find him, and I'm sure that there are many questions you all have for the Programmer.

[ He is her creator after all, she doesn't necessarily want him destroyed if she can return him to how he's meant to be. ]

Stay safe and good luck, everyone!

[ There's a period of silence of nearly a minute after this voice post begins, just a few tapping fingers on keys here and there before the voice speaks up. ]

I've- I've continued to think about it. You all wanted to stay, to fight, to keep on existing here. Then you disappear, so many of you. You keep saying you want to stay, but then you leave, and you keep fighting me and you keep withholding her.

[ He clears his throat, as though trying to get himself to the point. ]

That program made her, but you all accept her. You think you can use her against me? You don't think she could be dangerous because your enemy wants her gone. I see, I see. But she is. She is, and we warned you, but if this world falls apart it'll be too late. Can't wait for you to realize she's wrong.

Those glitches... they're mine, you know. The last couple. If they happen on accident, they can happen on purpose. You just have to-- [ He snaps his fingers. ] click-! The right place.

No more hiding now if there's nowhere to hide. If you all want the world to fall apart, then so shall it be.

{{ MOD NOTES: This marks the start of the Boogie Wonderland event! For details, check out the monthly events post. Either the Programmer or Fantoche may reply if your character comments this post. If you signed up to have your character meet the Programmer, you have two choices on how to go about it:

If you plan to make a post or log during the duration of the event, the Programmer will reply to that log or post. If you do not want to do that, simply reply with an "action" tag in reply to this post and it will be forward-dated to some point during the event. The characters who are going to meet the Programmer are Accelerator, Misaki Yata, Kohaku, Mami Tomoe, and Celica A. Mercury.

Thanks and have a nice day! }}

IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE!!

Accel had a good idea. I'm not going to ask all of you to spill your secrets to me or anything, but by now I'm going to hope that most of you have at least one or two people you trust.

So everyone drop their name here if you're willing to volunteer to hold secret someone's important moments. If you want to trust someone with your important memory as a precaution in case you get caught by the shadows, reply to them in a locked thread.

If you would rather be shot instead of telling someone a way you think might be able to save you, I'll volunteer to take anyone out quickly and painlessly.

ADDITIONALLY: I keep getting a ton of requests for atomic restructuring, so I'm going to do a workshop on Friday at 1pm. Show up or don't complain. And if you do show up, don't complain either. Even if you're a genius at picking things up, it'll take at least 3 hours to even make a little pin. It's not easy, it takes a lot of concentration and imagination, and you're going to have to practice on your own.

If there aren't any questions, make a comment to volunteer if you're willing to help with any of those.

{{ OOC: if your character is going to the workshop, RSVP them here. Otherwise, feel to comment around to anyone! }}

Recreating memories works too. Probably only important ones, since some things got repeated that really weren't and they didn't do anything. Memories that are important to the person, even if they didn't really say anything before that...

[ Yuri's voice sort of trails off toward the end there, but then perks up quickly with a subject change. Ish. Of sorts. It doesn't seem like a subject change to the untrained eye, but to Yuri it most definitely is. ]

Who's still an NPC? We can get working on them before anything, we'll figure out a plan of attack from there.

[Sometime in the evening of the 22nd, a simple text message shows up on the network.]

Fatal wounds are effective on the NPCed real people. A bunch of shadows will come out, so anyone trying that better be prepared to eradicate them right away.

There's a possible side effect you ought to know about, though. After fully healing, the person woke up with no memories. It's been a couple days, and still nothing. The verdict's out on how long that lasts.

Attempt at your own risk. That is, assuming you'd be daring enough to try in the first place.

Yo. Anyone who's still normal know anything about getting your powers back?

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of waiting around.

[Let it be known that "patience" is not Yata's middle name. In fact, if he had a middle name, it would probably be something girly to match his first name. Either way, he's kind of hoping to speed up the process a little bit because his aura could probably come in a lot of handy these days.]

Camping's been fun for the past couple of days, but I think I've managed to work something out, buddies!

There were houses programmed into the world a while back. Some of you may have seen the town. The programmer put it in, which is why it took me so long, but I've managed to override the base coding for the houses.

Those of you familiar with computers might be able to think of it as a firewall, in which the shadows are considered viruses. There are only 10 houses, so please split into groups right away. If you have an NPC in custody, please let me know and I can sneak into the library just before midnight to rewrite their housing assignments from there.

Heh, it might only be a bandaid, but I hoooope it helps enough!

{{ OOC: This marks the beginning of characters living in housing! If you haven't signed up already, make sure that you put your character in the housing list. Anyone who hasn't claimed a house by Monday, April 14th will be randomized! }}

SSS members: headquarters to pick up arms. Now. I have enough for each of you. If the shadows are going to start appearing again, I want all of you ready.

We're not going to Guild this time. We're standing and fighting and defending anyone who can't, that stupid NPC they're after or otherwise. If you can't fight, you're taking a weapon just in case. Don't do anything stupid and run if you have to. Those of you who can't fight, come talk to me right away.

[ Yuri sighs, her voice taking on a singsong tone, like she's trying to act like it's not a huge problem. After all, if everyone's terrified then it only makes things worse. ]

I've had it up to here with that stupid boy NPC's face, he should've stayed gone after I shot him in that dumb mug the first time!

{{ OOC NOTE: After a certain amount of time during this post, any threads that remain on the network will get cut off. Yuri's going to get turned into an NPC. Anyone is welcome to switch to action at that point. I'll specify a different location in each thread if your character wants to run into her! }}

The self-learning NPC has yet to be detained. As I mentioned, it is vital that we find and capture it before any problems arise.

If you can't get the NPC to us, perhaps a little more incentive will make it easier to cooperate? I'm activating the shadow program to speed the process along. I hope this will spark more interest in contributing to the cause.

As a reminder, the NPC was implemented into the system in the beginning of October, and because it is most likely posing as a human, it would probably be someone who has arrived after that time frame.

Hey, maybe this sounds stupid and all, but I've been thinkin' about this NPC thing...

If it's pretending to be one of us, do you think it's made friends? It's... real messed up that everyone's ready to catch it without thinking about that. Even if it turns out it can't actually feel close to someone, we can, right? Would you guys be able to turn on someone you thought was a friend just like that?

[ Because of what happened yesterday, Haruhi's decided that she's going to get down to business and do some investigative work. Mostly because she wants to be 100% sure that she's not capturing the wrong person. ]

It seems that a growing threat has presented itself here. The programmer wrote the code of an NPC in order to override particular aspects of the Angel Player program. However, the NPC's capabilities go beyond what he had planned. It has a high learning curve and special abilities that could allow it to rewrite bugs or any other programming.

This poses a potential problem that I need your assistance with.

I need your help to find this self-learning program NPC. Simply locate and detain it, then let me know so we can retrieve it. It should not be too difficult, I believe. It may be helpful to know that the NPC would likely be pretending to be human as well.

Of course, such a task would not go without its rewards. Whoever can find this NPC will be given the opportunity to request something. I will code whatever that person would like to be programmed into this world. This is a grand reward, so I am sure you realize just how important this task is.

Thank you, and good luck.

[OOC: This is a world-building opportunity! Characters could request to program virtually anything (pun absolutely intended) from a roller coaster to even a petting zoo. Whatever floats their boat. Also, while there will be responses from the Mysterious Boy, feel free to have characters discuss amongst themselves.]

OPTION A: TEXT.

[ Inaba's not the type of person who would sit around, freak out and do nothing about it. In fact, this isn't her first time being kidnapped, either; though little does she know that this wasn't a kidnapping. But when she reaches a computer and is told about the network, she decides to post, text only, deciding that it was her safest bet for information.

Besides, showing her face online was always a dangerous thing, and she knew that all too well from experience. She wasn't a hikikomori for nothing; she's had 2chan experience. Being alone with her computer during her middle school days was really helpful at times. ]

If anyone here could direct me to the nearest authorities or whoever's in charge to tell me the situation, that would be highly appreciated. Even more so if someone can get me out of here.

And if anybody recognizes the name "Student Cultural Society", I would like to be informed immediately.

OPTION B: ACTION.

[ After all of that, Inaba's decided that she has to check out the entire school and the outside boundaries, soon realizing that after a certain point, the school just simply... loops. Weird.

She'll keep on asking questions from the various NPCs, but it's only quick questions of "Where am I?" and "Do you know who's the boss of the school?" She only get inconsequential answers of "At school, silly!" or "Haha, Inaba-san, you should know this already; there's no boss, just the student council president and the principal!" And then they soon go into fits of laughter before she simply nods and walks away; she can pretend as if she didn't hear that.

It's even stranger that they know her name, since she had never introduced herself... But now she's just walking, trying to keep it cool, even though she's far from it. There's a cold, dead look in her eyes as she scavenges the entire area, hoping that she finds some clue to this mystery. ]

[ It's not really like Kohaku to make posts in short frequency, but at least it gives him something to do. Especially when one of the things to spend time with had effectively vanished from this realm of non-existence. ]

Yo... In case any of you care about that short asshole guy named Levi? Lance Officer or whatever the fuck his title was... He's gone.

Must have made his peace like the dumbass he was.

[ And Kohaku can't help being bitter about it. The second walking pool of negativity in the afterlife had disappeared. Even someone like Levi could apparently find salvation. What a traitor. ]

I don't even know why I bother updating anybody on this, but now you know. Bye.

[ It's a bit like a comrade - that was the closest term to 'friend' he would dare to use - had died. Died by giving up.
But of course that is bullshit. They were already dead. There was nothing that really mattered. They were just here because they refused to give up. Refused to stop suffering, too, maybe. Kohaku won't admit a thing about that though. All that is certain was that now he'll have to find a new sparring partner. ]

violined: (a solemn moment)
[personal profile] violined
[ Lately, the Afterlife had been calm. Too calm. Kohaku isn't one for sitting still. He's lived a life of adventure and pain... that he admittedly tried to break free from for something more peaceful. But this wasn't peaceful. This was a creepy, artificial excuse of it. It set him off. ]

This fuckhole's awfully stagnant, isn't it? It's not even that hard to understand why someone would give up on it and just disappear already. Not that I have any plans of doing that, I'm not giving this asshole programmer what he wants - I'll hold out until he gets what he deserves, much rather.

But egg children now? Really? We're all here because we were fucked over or did fuck up in life one way or another, not because we wanted cozy family training. Nobody here will even ever have a damn child. Isn't playing with lost future a bit macabre?

But to each their fucking own. I'll keep out of this mess.

[ And dump the egg on an NPC partner, oops. Better than smashing it, presumably. Which wouldn't really be unthinkable, with the awful mood he's been getting into lately. ]

Kirino Kousaka!

[ This video looks a little more dramatic than it should. For one thing, Yuri has her hands folded beneath her chin, looking quite serious. The background is dark, illuminated only by beams of the sun peeking out from behind her in the window. Before her is an egg, held in a holder.

This is in fact a bit of fun for Yuri, and also based entirely on the fact that she wants to win and find out just what this Gold Ticket situation is. The fact that Yuri looks like a movie villain probably doesn't reflect her intentions, but she is declaring this in public. ]

I've taken the egg hostage, get here right now or I'll give it to one of the other classmates to babysit while I take care of everyone else's "eggs."

[ Yes, she's making vague threats to everyone else's eggs to start a stir. What other reason would there be for declaring this out of private? Of course, if anyone ticks her off, she obtained a number of Ferrero Rocher chocolate balls from Caius that she's been planning to practice sling shot with. ]

[ Mikoto doesn't remember dying. Nor does she remember being unable to use her abilities to the maximum capacity, either, which pisses her off tremendously. Which is the sole reason why she is walking angrily around the school, hands closed into tight fists with the occasional small blueish-white electric spark emitting from the tip of her hair, wearing frog print pajamas and not even caring who sees them. She's pissed, and she wants to find the perpetrator behind this stupid crime.

Which may be why she's being relatively loud in the halls of the classroom.

If anybody is out and about, they might find Mikoto doing one of the following: ]

OPTION A:

[ Near any vending machine, Mikoto will attempt to get a drink. Any sort of drink, really. And she's doing it because, well, a middle school girl can get thirsty, even if she is dead. (Not that she knows that yet.)

But when she attempts to pun in some money, the vending machine decides not to give her what she paid for, which causes the brunette's eyes to widen in shock before gritting her teeth angrily, yelling: ]

Why, you...!

[ Of course, this isn't the first time that's happened. Which is why she'll be kicking the vending machine with a roundhouse kick just to get a random can. Most likely it being Key Coffee.

And the loud noise of her kick might be enough to startle a few people. ]

OPTION B:

[ And right in front of the principal's office is Mikoto. She wants answers, and she wants them now. Of course, the young teenager is pretty confident that she'll be able to find what she wants here; after all, if the head honcho isn't the principal, then it's quite difficult to see who it is.

Of course, she's right about to open the door, but somebody might want to stop her before a hammer goes and whacks smack into her face. ]

OPTION C:

[ Mikoto's pretty pissed that she's practically been brought back to the state of being a Level One. Basically that means she's going to have to practice a little, and practice hard. Of course, she's already at this point found out that she's dead, even though she has absolutely no recollection of her own death, something that pisses her off even more.

Which is why she's on the rooftop of the school, with a bunch of soda cans stacked on top of each other as a pyramid, a bunch of arcade coins that she bought from the convenience store; she couldn't use yen because of the holes in the center, after all.

And now she'll practice doing her signature move: the Railgun, by tossing one coin into the air and flicking it towards the cans. Of course, no electrical power is used, but she does hit the top can.

... At least her aim's doing fine? But her electricity has practically become zilch. She can't even do a single spark unless she tries extremely hard, and that sometimes even wears her out. ]

Geez! What kind of afterlife takes away something so important...!?
