umm, hi

[ Well. This is awkward. Taking care of an egg...? Oh well. ]

my name is yukiteru amano, and i'm looking for a 'peko pekoyama'

[ For an antisocial kid who keeps to himself, this was strange. He could count his friends here that he interacts with on a normal basis on one hand, so looking for someone new... well... it feels odd. It took him two days to even work up the nerve. ]

we're supposed to take care of an egg i think

I believe that I require assistance.

Does anyone know where a large-sized pet may be kept? I have recently come into possession of an adorable creature, but it is growing rather rapidly and I do not believe that my roommate would appreciate an even larger animal in our living space.

I have no desire to give the animal up, but I believe that a safe storage place may be the best option.

My thanks for your help in advance.

October 17, late day/early evening [2:34 pm] → masstext;

Ibuki needs help, Ibuki needs help, Ibuki needs…..helllppp

Ibuki is stuck, she is very stuck-- yes. Currently stuck, very scared and very much stuck in the closet. Ibuki’s not sure which closet but it is surely a closet…

She has been touched by perverts!! These cloths are not normal, they are not Ibuki’s, she has been stripped and tossed into this closet. However, Ibuki still has one string left-- oh yes.

Fools!! Only fools leave their pray with a phone to send out a text in help, so please help, help Ibuki. Find her, save her from this closet prison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TT_TT

[Ibuki has landed herself a nice, compact, spot in the nurses office’s closet (if you haven’t heard the word closet enough, she’s in the closet.) Her screams can be heard from outside on the garden side, so anyone walking home from school could most definitely hear her pounding on the walls.]

[It's been sometime since he last got in a fight or did any sort of training, and even then the shadows really weren't the best things to practice on. Especially with the danger of him getting NPC'd if he tried to punch them. Somedays being a fist fighter sucks.

So here he is, down a the dojo to scope out anyone who looks as though they can hold their own against him. Powers or not he's confident that he can still give someone a hell of a challenge in a quick spar. Sadly, none of the NPCs that are showing up for their club activites are really impressing him. Man, he could run circles around those guys, and come the next day they'd just forget anything they learnt from a fight with him anyway.

After a couple of minutes of watching a few NPCs exchange a few practice blows, he flips out his phone and starts typing up something to throw up on the network.]

[Message done, Kotarou spends the next few hours just hanging around the dojo to see if anyone actually shows up. Early on he's sitting around and keeping an eye on the door to see who wanders in. He still has phone out, which is blaring out music he found while seeing what his app could do.

As time passes he starts to getting a little restless, leading to Kotarou to practice a few punches and kicks on his own. Each of his attacks seems to come out quickly with some serious power behind each movement. What's more, he carries on through with his training while still wearing his school uniform. It might not be his Mahora uniform, but his school uniform will always be his battle garb all the same. He's getting pretty into his own little practice session, so he might end up missing anyone who decides to reply or show up later on in the day.]

『 ACTION - TOWN 』

spoilers for Dangan Ronpa: Chapter 5 - boring tl;dr on arrival )

[ Well, no point in just sitting here and continue to think about this. He should go out and look for some answers, like figuring out where he is and how on earth he has ended up here, wearing these... new clothes. Hmm, maybe he's actually not dead. Maybe he somehow got saved and got placed here. He certainly thinks that's in the realms of possibility, considering that before arriving at Hope's Peak, he went through a similar thing, of suddenly waking up in a whole new place. Sure, the clothes part is new, but it's similar enough and the same thing might have happened here! Right, that's the way to think! ]

[ With new determination, he stands himself and readies himself to do some investigating!! But... once he looks around some more, he finds a big problem with said investigating... ]

[ He's stuck on a roof of a house... ]

[ Well, damn. ]

[ Naegi walks from one end of the roof to the other, taking care not to walk too close to the edge. Looking at things... he's most certainly on a house and on the second floor, or maybe even the third, he's not entirely sure. All he knows for sure is that he's high up. Jumping doesn't seem like the best idea ever. It actually seems like a really bad idea. He might hurt himself if he does that and he's in no rush to have that happen. He's been punched in the face, whacked over the head, fell unconscious god knows how many times, got really sick, and all that fun stuff enough times this past while. He's very glad that he feels healthy and fine right now, so no thanks. He'll just stay up here and figure things out. ]

[ After some minutes of wandering around this rooftop and trying to get the attention of whoever lives here, he has come to the conclusion that... no one is home (or at least very deaf to the noise he's making) and that the only way he's getting down here is if someone on ground level helps him. L-Let's hope that someone actually walks by to help him. ]

Hello?! Anyone out there?!

[ So, if you're in town, for whatever reason, you might just walk across a house with some kid waving his arms around and shouting to grab your attention. HELP, PLEASE... SOMEONE GET HIM A LADDER... ]

『 VIDEO/ACTION - LIBRARY 』

[ After that... super long day of being stuck on a roof and walking all the way to the boarding school (where he's, apparently, staying and told to attend now; yeah, he doesn't get it either), Naegi is completely pooped out. Talk about exhausting, man, both mentally and physically. This is a lot to take in and after being here for a good couple of hours, he thinks that he kind of has an understanding of things. Not completely, though. So, more exploring around the whole school is a good idea to gather more info! Even if he is pretty tired... ]

[ He has actually gone to his room first, but he didn't really stay there for long. He still wants to get the most out of this first to take a look around, after all. If he's kind of forced to stay here and actually... well, attend school, he should get a feel of the place, which eventually lead him to the library, looking over the computers. Hey, they have computers here! That's a sight for sore eyes. Like your every other average teenaged boy, he has spent a fair share of his time browsing the internet and forums, so man, using one again would be great. He hopes that he can actually get on the internet and start looking for things. ]

[ He props himself right down at one of the computers and clicks around, looking for whatever. But huh, it seems like that there's kind of network system here? Neat. He can use that to communicate with others. He should put this to good use! ]

[ Let's see if he can get the video working on this. ]

I think I got it on. Oh, there we go.

Uh, hi. My name's Makoto Naegi. I suppose you could say that I'm new here. I kind of just arrived earlier today on a roof... [ He doesn't know either, okay. He's still trying to figure it out. ] I think I got the basics down, but if anyone can go over things with me, like... where we are, exactly, that'll be actually really great.

[ Y'know, about that whole... dead stuff, which Naegi still kind of doesn't want to believe. ]

Since while walking through the forest, I could have sworn that I saw some, er... Pokemon. I don't really know what that says about this place...

[ Unless Naegi was seeing things, but no, he's pretty sure that he saw a goddamn Pikachu or a Pidgey or something. He hasn't played the Pokemon games in a while, but he did play them a lot when he was younger, so he knows his Pokemon kind of well. Heck yeah, Purple Version. The best version. ]

[ And just when he thinks that's a good place to end, he pauses and adds in this one last thing. ]

... Oh, if anyone knows anything about Hope's Peak as well, could you let me know? Thanks.

[ And cut! That's an end to that video. Time to see what else he can do on this computer. ]

[ For anyone who wanders in the library a bit after, he might... have fallen asleep at one of the computers. He pushed the keyboard a bit to the side, to give his arms enough room to cross over each other and turn into a makeshift pillow for his head. He hasn't meant to fall asleep here-- well, kind of. He only wanted a small nap, so he won't be here for long... hopefully. ]

Did anyone else get a cell phone this week? Mine's got some kind of really weird game.

[ Despite getting the phone, Yuri figures it's better to make things clear by doing a post from the laptop she obtained. After all, no one should be subjected to text speak when she was trying to make things clear.

She holds up her phone, a bright red model. ]

Anyone from the land of the technologically impaired, this is a cell phone. You can talk and text and play games. I can't seem to download any new ones so it's probably just whatever it comes with.

[ Well, hers came with it preset so she didn't get to choose. Yuri lowers the phone, leaning forward a little. ]

Well, it looks like there were instructions so I probably don't have to worry. Does anyone know where they came from?

SLEEPOVER IN THE SSS HEADQUARTERS!

Girls only, September 14th. BYO Mattress and we'll lay them across the whole floor and it'll be like a bounce house but with mattresses! I'll get food and drinks. Entertainment will include making fun of the boys, rating them on various factors, laughing at really embarrassing stories, horror stories, and basically anything else you can think of. Also kicking any perverts who come near the sleepover in places they won't appreciate.

You can RSVP by replying to this post. I don't mind if you just show up but if you say you will and you don't I will and don't I will hunt you down and make you show up. The RSVP is so I know how much food to grab.

OPTION A: ANONYMOUS TEXT (UNHACKABLE, UNTRACEABLE)

Afterlife:

What if somebody you cared about - perhaps even loved - lost all their memories of you because of their love for you? Hypothetically speaking, of course. What would you do?

OPTION B: ACTION ( hallways )

[ For people who know Haruhi well enough, there's something that's quite off about her today. She doesn't seem energetic at all, and the gleam in her eye seems to be gone. Sure, she's not an NPC, but she's surrounded by them; hell, she's even dressed up in the regular uniform rather than the SSS uniform. Even though she's trying to make a clique of friends this way, she doesn't really seem to be talking to them all that much, only speaking every once in a while to say, "Oh, is that so", answer simple questions, and laugh when they laugh.

She's hollow, and it's obvious.

Even more so when she's in the center of the group and the NPCs seem to be forming a semicircle around her; almost as if they were the Great Wall of China.

The melancholy in her aura is obvious. And it's for certain that she's avoiding someone. But who? Dare to find out? ]

[ For the past few days, since she'd awoken in this strange new place, Peko had taken it upon herself to investigate her new surroundings. It was prudent to gather as much information as possible, especially in the case that things went as badly here as they did back on the island. Granted, she probably looked a little ridiculous to anyone who happened upon her in her attempts to investigate every corner of the place, but it could not be helped.

Once she felt confident in her acquisition of the lay of the land, Peko made her way to the library. She had found the computer network on a prior expedition, but hadn't felt the need to announce her presence at the time.

When the voice recording starts up, the sound is of a calm, sharp woman's voice.
]

Hello. I am called Pekoyama Peko, and I believe that I am considered to be "new here".

I have had the basics of this place explained to me, although I will admit to a few questions....such as why the afterlife occurs in a high school of all places. However, I imagine the answer to that question is not widely known.

[ A pause. ]

More importantly, I seek a weapon. I have heard of the dangers of the shadows, and I would also like to keep my swordsmanship skills from becoming rusty from disuse.

[ Plus, she feels a sense of discomfort, being disarmed at the moment - even if there are no clear and present threats, she was unused to not having any sort of weaponry on her person. ]

Any assistance that can be offered in procuring a sword would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone! This is Yuri Nakamura, sometimes called Yurippe, of the SSS. [ That sounded pretty cheerful, actually. Though not as peppy as before, the confident tone continues as Yuri explains. ] The SSS is an afterlife-based battlefront formerly dedicated to taking down God, presently dedicated to the investigation and defense against the shadows and other unfortunate accidents. I guess glitches would probably be the best thing to call them... Not all jobs require combat experience or intelligence if you're interested in helping out.

Anyway, there are a lot of new people here so I figured I'd both introduce myself and go over a few things, especially after the Angel Player AI posted something and I happen to.. have experience with him. Not a lot, since the last time I saw him I shot him. He's not at his former location, so there's no point in investigating there. There aren't any clues. Instead, I'm going to tell you all what I know about what this place is and how it works and if a damn one of you says anything weird I'll find you and kick your ass myself, got it?

Those of you who just got here: You're dead. This is the afterlife. Sorry for your loss. If you don't believe me, head up to the principal's office where the sign says "SSS HQ" at 11am tomorrow. The door's unlocked, but in polite society's we knock, so don't forget. [ Or else they'll become an example. ]

Second of all, pretty much everyone here has experienced some kind of tragedy or uncontrollable event in their life that made it unfair. Most people are young, but not everyone anymore. Some people may have some memory loss. Usually it will come back with time, since a lot of times the memory loss is related to head injuries when you died. Most of us died with a feeling of being unfulfilled or still wanting to hold on and keep fighting even after we died, however that may have been. The only way to get out of this place is to become fulfilled, accept your life, and move on but I'm not entirely sure that's going to work anymore.. though I can't really give details as to why on that yet. Either way, the key to staying here is to not live an entirely normal life. You can go to classes as long as you do something else that keeps you from being considered a "normal" student. It's really not that difficult as long as you want to stay, but just remember as long as you do whatever pain you feel is going to stay with you too.

That said, it's possible to manipulate the environment through a process called Atomic Restructuring. I've taught it to a couple of you, so those who learned please teach it to other people because I don't want to be stuck teaching it to however many people are here since it's a pain in the ass, but you can get pretty much anything you need that you have a good enough memory of to both know the parts and how to piece it together. The same capability to do that lead to an individual developing software known as "Angel Player." This software has the ability to manipulate the environment in ways that shouldn't be humanly possible, but unfortunately also is the reason for the shadows' appearances as well as, likely, the NPCs' strange behavior lately-- the NPCs are all of the regular students who aren't actually real. Think of them like really fleshy robots that are programmed pretty well to act like "normal" people, so much so that it'd be impossible for them to be human. They're basically like NPCs in a video game with limited lines who won't remember if you kicked their chicken or not. They're well programmed though, so if you kancho a girl, she'll still slap you across the face. Try it if you don't believe me.

Anyway, the Angel Player software essentially is something of a "God program" in this world. You can do anything you want with it, even make this world an eternal paradise if you want. [ She sounds a little amused at that, just because that was the offer given to her. ] That's not what this world is for and I personally refused that offer when it was given to me. The current programming, however, states that this is not intended to be an eternal paradise and posits that there is a single way to get you stuck in this world.

Essentially, the emotion of love is a dangerous thing in this world. Not by itself, but when love is felt strongly enough, then it gets taken away, it can hurt enough to get a person stuck here forever. That's why the programmer created the Angel Player program, because he was that kind of person. He fell in love, but she disappeared before he did and he loved her so much that he waited for her for years and years until it started to drive him insane. So he programmed Angel Player and those shadows to turn people into NPCs if they detect the presence of active love within this afterlife that's strained to the point of breaking because of how much pain it's causing. Either because you lost the one person you fell in love with or you knew that all of your friends were going to be taken away one by one until you were the only one left.

Since it's incapable of detecting the source of said love or whether or not that person would want to give that up, the shadows just go after everyone until the emotion stops because the person has been cut off from their emotions and turned into an NPC. That wasn't fair, so I completely destroyed the system and its watcher, that weird NPC with the flippy blue hair who kind of seems like a stalker, instead of accepting the offer I got to become God. Even if it was really tempting, but that'd be unfair to other people.. --Anyway! I kind of suspect that the programming's changed a little bit, especially since there are different types of people here than before, and there's been all kinds of weird crap happening too, but that's what I know about it.

In summary: hi, you're dead, watch out for the shadows because that's what they're doing, and don't get obliterated. If you have more questions, reply to this or if you think you'd rather strategize in person, consider joining the SSS. The headquarters is located on the third floor of the administration building where the principal's office should be. And don't forget: A demonstration for anyone who doesn't believe that we're dead at 11:00am tomorrow at the SSS. I don't bite and I'm not going to do anything crazy violent unless you forget to knock. Promise!

[ OOC: Meeting at 11AM to prove 'hey we're all dead!' Otherwise, just comment with how your character is responding-- text, video, voice, action if they went to find her. Whatever. ]
