1 - I set these words in steel, for anything not set in metal cannot be trusted
[ Nighttime isn't quite going to be quiet tonight. Elend is new here - and quite new to this style of world as well. ]
I know she said that it was wrong, but this is somewhat insane. No mists - although that great shining thing up there might be burning them away - and all of those - Stars, is that what they are? And no ash!
[ Elend spins in place, staring at the sky, before turning to the nearest person who has come to see what all his noise is about. ]
I've never managed to see the stars before, I'm no Tineye, or Mistborn, so I could never see through the clouds. Are clear nights common? [ But, in the face of all these new things, he is already distracted from his questions and turning to look at the ground - and the plants. ]
Are they this color because its dark? Or are they always.... green?

[From the way this man is yammering on, it sounds as if he must be from one of those other worlds that Suzumiya mentioned. Ryan definitely wants to get his hands on him and poke around a bit.
For purely scientific reasons, of course.]

He's poking at the grass. ]
I'm fairly certain that if anything needs being checked, it would have been my stomach, but since these new clothes aren't dripping, nothing needs to be checked.
no subject
[So he's from a very different world. Ryan casually puts a hand on the man's shoulder, trying to guide him towards the school building proper.]
Even so, you're in a world that's very different from your own. You should probably get a check up, just in case. You can't be too careful.
no subject
... so I guess I'm asking 'what is a check up'-[ But he wants to study the grass...
Well, with a pat, he'll straighten and look to that building. ]
no subject
[There's really no need for it at all in the afterlife, but that won't stop Ryan from trying to get people in his office.]

Is this 'the Earth' like this place? [ He caught that "from", and he's already fairly sure he's dead, so he'll take that in stride. ]
no subject
[ It doesn't make her feel ashamed to admit it, but still. ] I was blind since birth. All the details I know about my Earth is what people described me, but I was told the sky has always been dark and starry like this one.

[ Does being from a really screwed up world make him a weirdo? Then he accepts his weirdness. ]

How much pollution did you have where you come from? That just sounds sick!
the moment when his canon bites me-
[ Elend pauses. ]
Well. Before the Lord Ruler, it might not have been, but that was well over a thousand years ago. And he did his best to make sure very little survived from before he took power.
it's okay!!
I don't even know who this 'Lord Ruler' person is. And he sure could've taken up a less retarded name.

[ The stars are fascinating, okay. Some look slightly different colors and are brighter or twinkle a little less- ]

[ Out of plain curiosity. After all, she knows that there are aliens and espers in this afterlife, so this mysterious person might actually be interesting. ]

Its no where near as... clean, as this one. Ash covers the sky and even through the skaa - which are something of the.. peasant class, although really, they might as well have been slaves under the Lord Ruler - sweep often, it still stains everything black. All the plants are ... brown, and there are none of these multicolored ones... [ Yes, he's looking at the closed flowers. ]
We have.. dogs, cats, horses, mistwraiths - they just look horrible, because they put the bones they collect any which way and don't care what's a foot or a hand, but they're harmless. Kandra, which Spook said were 'grown up' mistwriaths - they're excellent spies, but they're horribly expensive. There's the Steel Inquisitors, which really.. aren't human any more, with all those spikes in them. And then there's Koloss, which are about 6 feet to 13 feet, since they don't stop growing, blue, and bloodthirsty. Humans, they used to be three groups - skaa, nobility, and terrismen, but there isn't that much difference in any of us, despite what the Steel Ministry liked to say. [ Does that explain things a bit? ]

I'd be willing to bet you're real at least.
[ Yuri has her arms stretched above her head as she walks by, then stop and turns on her heel to face him. ]
Another newbie. What's a Tineye or a Mistborn?
no subject
[ Elend studies her. ]
I'm.. ah, not the only dead from my world?
no subject
I don't know, are you? You know you're dead though? That's going to save some explanation. A lot of people here don't know that when they come here.
no subject
[ there's no marks on his stomach at all. ]
that, and this place is.. very different.
