1 - I set these words in steel, for anything not set in metal cannot be trusted
[ Nighttime isn't quite going to be quiet tonight. Elend is new here - and quite new to this style of world as well. ]
I know she said that it was wrong, but this is somewhat insane. No mists - although that great shining thing up there might be burning them away - and all of those - Stars, is that what they are? And no ash!
[ Elend spins in place, staring at the sky, before turning to the nearest person who has come to see what all his noise is about. ]
I've never managed to see the stars before, I'm no Tineye, or Mistborn, so I could never see through the clouds. Are clear nights common? [ But, in the face of all these new things, he is already distracted from his questions and turning to look at the ground - and the plants. ]
Are they this color because its dark? Or are they always.... green?

Sight was only one sense that Burning tin would help, so there are other things. ]
But you could know other things; does the air smell about right, or the woods and .. plants and foods?

[ Actually he has very little idea of what he is talking about. ]
Sorry, I was just trying to make you feel better about that.

The only smell I felt really familiar with was that of the food at the cafeteria. [ She's half joking about that. ] But I've been here just for a couple days. I'm sure there'll be more things that I'm going to recall from back home.

Familiar food is a good thing. I have the feeling the only familiar foods may be meats, grains, or stews - If there are all these new plants, I doubt the vegetables I'm used to are around.

[ Let... him think about that. ]
If its made of green plants, then I haven't.

[ ... Please let Straff not be here. That would be horrid... ]

[ Ok, that's not a good thing to say, but it's true. ]

[ No, Elend, he died a day or so before what you last remember.. ]

So that means he might appear in this place as well. That's no good.

[ Wow Elend that is horrible to say of a parent- ]

I don't think people effectively die in here. You must not be fond of your parent at all.

Not at all.
