[ Nighttime isn't quite going to be quiet tonight. Elend is new here - and quite new to this style of world as well. ]

I know she said that it was wrong, but this is somewhat insane. No mists - although that great shining thing up there might be burning them away - and all of those - Stars, is that what they are? And no ash!

[ Elend spins in place, staring at the sky, before turning to the nearest person who has come to see what all his noise is about. ]

I've never managed to see the stars before, I'm no Tineye, or Mistborn, so I could never see through the clouds. Are clear nights common? [ But, in the face of all these new things, he is already distracted from his questions and turning to look at the ground - and the plants. ]

Are they this color because its dark? Or are they always.... green?

The problem with that is that he died a day or so before I did....

Not at all. Although maybe the shock of this place being odd will cause him to die again?

[ Such is black humour. Not that she's that much scandalized, since people sometimes joked about her blindness back home. It was insensitive, but she got used to it eventually. She doesn't exactly smile at that, though. ]

I don't think people effectively die in here. You must not be fond of your parent at all.

It would be a little silly, now that I think of it. To die and be able to die again... Where would you go the second time?

Indeed. I would suppose that people return to... life when they die here, but I'm not too keen about testing it out.

... Now that is an interesting idea. I don't think they would return to life around the time they left it, but where is this life they return to? Someone else's? Do they remember anything...

... Actually, someone told me there's a way out of here. If you actually reach your purpose or become too happy, you disappear get reincarnated in a random living being.

I don't know how that works. When people reincarnate, they don't just remember their past lives. At least I never noticed a case like this. I could have been someone reincarnated, but never noticed it.

That is an interesting idea. One I haven't thought about before, to be honest.
