[ It takes some time for Petra to understand how things work, but sooner or later after some observation she’s managed to get the video on. ]

Hello? Ah, I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself… I’m - uh -new here? At least from what I’ve seen... My name is Petra Ral, nice to meet you all!

[ She fidgets a little, before continuing. ]

So, from what I’ve seen this-- world? [ Can she even call this place a world? It's the afterlife but... Everything's really strange, okay. ] -Is… far more modern than my own. The technology here is incredible, though taking coffee from a gigantic metal block seems kind of strange. [ A small pause. ] It feels a little impersonal? I think coffee’s best made from scratch, but that might just be me…

--Oh, that’s right!

I was wondering if anyone could explain these… machines? Is that what you would call them? Ah, yeah, I was wondering if anyone could explain their purposes and how to use them! Some of them actually seem to make work a lot easier than it usual is, so I'm sure it would be really convenient to learn! I’ve been told my methods are very... “old”.

[ Petra tilts her head a little, as if she’s wondering if there’s something she’s forgotten to mention. ]

[ Later, if you find yourself in the garden, you'll see Petra walking around, smelling the flowers and inspecting them closely. There are so many types she's never seen before! And for the ones she's seen, they're mostly from outside the walls, where she doesn't really have the time to study them.

She probably won't notice you unless you're in her face, because she's super focused on a ladybug she's spotted on a plant. ]

[No use sitting around when there is a perimeter to cover, taking notes on the map he was provided with of each place what could be found there and it's purpose. Most were self explanatory, cafeteria, school, library. There is a garden close to the apartments as well which is what Erwin last stop for the day.

It's not an important note but best to know weather it's a garden of flowers or crops.. He doesn't bother speaking to anyone he comes in contact with, knowing most of these "NPC" people will not speak nor have anything of value.]

[ Petra's too focused to notice there's another person here, before the ladybug flies away and she follows it with a spin, suddenly seeing someone way familiar. Her first thought is "Why is he here?", so she's pretty quick to move over to him. ]

[Looking up from his sketch, the flowers here so vibrant with good soil. Air fresh giving them freedom to bloom so beautifully, casing the artist within him a desire to jot it down..]

Hum? [That was a name he knew well, another soldier? That woman was part of Levi's specially picked squad.. she died not to long ago.. Erwin wouldn't forget someone picked specially for a unit that important.]

Levi will be happy to see you, do you know where you are? [A name, come now he's not that old, what was her name..?]

[ A salute -- death or not, this is the commander. She's about to state her name and division however, at the mention of Levi, she drops it. ]

He's... here too?

[ She swallows. ]

I.. assumed this was the afterlife, sir, but you couldn't possibly...

[ .. Be dead? Is what she's unable to end her sentence with, because the Commander was a strong man, clearly he couldn't be dead, right? ]

[ Not that it's really important, but it is nice to say nevertheless. ]

And it's fine to make coffee from scratch; it tastes more fresh that way. Though if used properly, sometimes the coffeemaker can make really good coffee.

[ What is technology beyond weaponry??? Nothing she knows, at least! ]

[When Levi sees Petra's face on the tiny box's screen, he can't really believe it. Is this another one of those shitty video events that show everyone what you don't want them to see? Because if it is he's finding those Shadow things right now and fucking them three ways to Sunday.]

[But her voice is infectious. She sounds just as kind as Petra always had. Hell, she even mentions making coffee. Everything about the Petra on the screen is the same as the Petra he knew at home and the last time he'd seen her she had been smashed against the roots of a tree and bleeding from every orifice.]

[After the video ended, Levi got up from his bed in the house Erwin, Hange, and himself had claimed for themselves, putting on his gear and going to clear his head. It seemed to be a bad idea, however, because sooner than later he came across the young woman as he moved through the forest's edge, spotting her down below in the school's garden. Now he had to approach her. Running away would be the cowardly thing to do, and Levi was not yellow bellied bastard. He was just a bastard. Levi leaps down from the tree and heads over, watching her a moment before stepping into the garden.]

[It was time for a heartfelt reunion. One of his squad had been returned to him, would others follow? He had to make this one count.]

Oi, you're not gonna fucking learn a thing about all this weird modern technology if you sit around lookin' at fucking flowers.

[ She's fully aware that this is the afterlife. It can't be anything else, because she knows she's dead but she doesn't know why she can't find Erd and Gunther anywhere around, though. But is there one voice she doesn't expect to hear here, it's his. Petra reacts immediately, turning her head and about to do a salute to greet him because her being his subordinate is still fresh in her mind, but she stops halfway instead, staring at him. ]

Why.. are you here?

[ Petra's not sure what to make of it, to be honest. If he died, she most certainly failed her mission and her death was a waste. If he died, humanity must also be doomed, and... She looks down, biting her lip. ]

[He straightens a little, reflexively. He might as well be giving a report, but his voice sounds hollow.]

[For all the months he's been stuck in this place, Accelerator has yet to come across someone who was so clearly unfamiliar with technology (aside from Link, who was a little kid and therefore didn't count). Add to that that he still views the whole "multiple realities" and "different worlds" thing as Haruhi's stupid conspiracy theory, and all he can think on seeing this video message is-]

What the hell kind of backwater place did you come from? I knew the outside world was a few decades behind the rest of Academy City, but you must have lived under a rock if you can't recognize a vending machine.

[he's been to Hawaii and Russia. He knows what the tech level is supposed to be like out there.

Where I come from, we simply don't have the technology to create this... ah, electricity, so I believe this world is... Very advanced compared to mine.

Same here, actually. But so far I've figured out, um, "vending machines," meal tickets, and some of the more basic computer things. Though I hear there's almost no limit to the kinds of things you can do with those.

There aren't any here though, so that coffee is the most we've got until a barista dies off. It's pretty good as far as canned coffee goes though.

To assume the latter has never happened would describe her as completely inhumane; and while she is most certainly off-kilter, that would be far to presumptuous. Regardless, if she has ever grieved for Petra or anyone of Levi's squad, the end result of her reaction to Petra's reappearance is as follows: ]

[ She peeks up from a patch of flowers, and she's stuck flowers in her hair and around the neck of her shirt and in her sleeves. Mana has been rolling among the flowers, and has been enjoying herself. ]

[ Whoa, she... really doesn't expect that at all, so she jumps a little, taking a moment to stare at the other until she realizes the other is way too short to be a titan, and that she doesn't look all that hostile at all. ]

[ Oh, titans! Someone mentioned those to her when she first came here, but she never really grasped what they were. Tall people? As for hostile, she's probably the least hostile person in the world.]
