[Action]
[It was over.]
[After so many years of fighting, it was finally over. He'd said his painful goodbyes, managed not to cry, closed his eyes and...]
[...woke up on the sidewalk.]
[The campus was buzzing with activity, the students recently liberated from classes for lunch. The NPCs carefully walked around him as he lay on the ground, staring vacantly at the sky as he came to his senses. The fog over his mind cleared gradually, becoming aware of an unshakable sense of déjà vu descending upon him. The dark color of his jacket caught his peripheral vision, slowly sitting up in order to look down at himself. This uniform... he wasn't wearing this one a moment ago. In fact, he hadn't worn this particular uniform since...]
[Is this..?]
[He sat up sharply, as if jolted out of a deep sleep, scrutinizing the details of the uniform jacket he wore. It was the same one. There was no question.]
[...No way. That means..!?]
THE GAME RESETS!?
[His theatrical screaming could likely be heard from a great many places across the campus, drawing as much attention to himself as could be expected.]

Judging by Hinata's reaction to being here though, he figures it's safe to assume that his memories end when he disappeared after Yuri. Not that Otonashi recalls it himself, but Yuri told him that's what happened, so... But good. It's relieving to know that Hinata left safely. Or somewhat, anyway, because here he is, back with the rest of them for whatever odd and discomforting reason.
Either way, there's a lot of explaining to do, so... Otonashi firmly grabs Hinata by the shoulder.]
Hinata, calm down for a second!

[Seeing Otonashi here now was one of the best things that could have happened. He was going to try not to start screaming and crying about how he thought he'd never see the redhead again, but it was obvious in the little gestures... You know, like Hinata's refusal to let Otonashi have personal space.]
[Take comfort in the fact that some things never change, Otonashi. Thankfully, Hinata stops asking rapid fire questions at the redhead's behest, waiting for further instruction with an absolutely ridiculous looking grin on his face.]

But sadly, the afterlife has.
Once he sees that Hinata has settled down, he drops his hand from his friend's shoulder.]
Okay... So, basically, we don't know the reasoning for it, but something changed here. For starters, we're back here, and loads more people have been arriving -- even adults. And some... weird things in general have been going on too...
[It was raining food once... once the shadows attacked... the NPCs have been acting strangely... and so on.]

[So there wasn't even a partial time loop? That was a relief... but it definitely would've been nice to get a second chance to do a couple things... like draw straws for who had to wear the bald cap and glasses.]
Adults, too? [How weird... But the way Otonashi talked, made it sound like he missed out on a lot, so he had to ask...] Otonashi... how long ago was the graduation ceremony..? [Or rather, how long have I been gone?]
no subject
After a moment, he responds:]
About a year ago. I think. To be honest, I don't remember the graduation ceremony itself. My memories stop a little before then. Yuri and Naoi remember everything up until the end though.
[Why he has amnesia again, he has no idea.]
no subject
[Thankfully, he managed to bite back his horrified reaction just enough to force a small smile.] A-amnesia again...
You didn't miss much..! [It was an attempt to make him feel better about not remembering, being blind to what happened after he himself left.] I had to wear a ridiculous outfit and pretend to be the principal... I'm sure Yurippe probably has pictures.
[He was deflecting the panic that he'd been gone for a year pretty well, he just knew he'd have to go confront Yuri and beg forgiveness for breaking his promise.]
...What about Kanade? She didn't come back?
I'M SO SORRY i think i accidentally deleted this notif a few days ago...;;
And of course, he's not happy with the amnesia. He is glad to hear that the graduation ceremony went well, though. Hinata even got to wear a ridiculous outfit, wow... He hopes he'll get to see those pictures sometime, if they're even around. Despite the circumstances, he manages to smile, just a bit.]
Well, that's good at least. I'm sure it was hilarious, ahah... I'm glad it went well though.
[...Aaaand then that smile fades at the mention of Kanade. He shakes his head.]
As far as I'm aware, no. It's just you, me, Yuri, and Naoi. Yui and TK came back before too but they disappeared again.
no worries! i'll backtag forever 8Db
[A melancholy settled over them as they talked about the battlefront. They'd lost so many members... would it even feel the same now? He wasn't sure. What he was sure of, was that his friend was wearing a somber expression and that was completely unacceptable. He reached over, clamping a hand down on the redhead's shoulder.]
Some of us came back, right? I'm sure others will turn up! [It was a selfish desire, wanting people to come back here, but a comforting one. No one would choose to be alone here...] Do you... want to go play catch later? [Because obviously baseball is the best medicine.]
GOOD also we can totally make a log for them playing catch if that's fine with you!
Yeah, maybe. I'm not sure how great it would be for them, but... it would be nice to be able to see everyone again.
[He smiles again, albeit probably a bit solemnly. He really does miss everyone. Hinata's suggestion does sound good right about now though, so...]
But sure. How about around sundown? That way you have time to take a look around and meet the new people here.
no subject
Sure! I'll meet you at the diamond. [But for now, he had some strangers to invade the personal space of, waving farewell to Otonashi before running off.] See you then..!
[[OOC: Sorry about the delay!! Here you go!]]
