video; On Elections and Maids

[ Mami has taken the time to set up a video on the school library's computer, trying to make a good impression. So she's sitting in the chair with hair properly drill-like, and a smile on her face, her uniform perfectly pressed and clean. When she wants to, she really puts off an air of dignified grace, even if she's younger than many of the high schoolers here. ]

Hello everyone. If you don't know, my name is Mami Tomoe. I want to thank everyone who voted for me for the position of Secretary on the Student Council. I promise I will do my best to assist the president and vice-president in their goals for the student council. Of course, if anyone has something they'd like to bring up to the student council, please come talk to me at anytime.

With that out of the way, I wanted to gauge interest in something I've been thinking about..

[ Mami reaches off camera to find a piece of poster board and hold up to the camera against her stomach, with her large chest sort of hanging over the top..

On the poster Mami has written "School Cafe" in big blocky letters, with glitter everywhere. There are cut outs from magazines all neatly pasted on the off-white background, pictures of maid dresses, pots of tea, snacks, and a handsome boy dressed as a butler. It's girly and cute and still done with a sense of style to it, even if it looks a little haphazard. ]

My friend Yamashita-kun and I came up with the idea of starting a school cafe, as a club or group activity. Something to have a place for others to come and drink, eat, and socialize after school. We could use a little help getting started, but we'd also like to see what others thought of our idea. See? The waitresses and waiters could even dress as maids and.. [ Oops, her boobs are in the way, she has to pull the board out to show the butler a little better. ] ..and butlers. I think it could be fun.

So if you have any questions or comments for me, please send me a message, or talk to me in person. Thank you.

[And for not the first time, Kyouko can't help but sport a blush of her own. She blinks and lightly shakes her head.]

You… you know that's not what I meant!

[A huff.]

It'd still be a lot better than doing it in public. But a thing like that would definitely cost you something really tasty!

[Because Kyouko would gladly trade cute plus accidental innuendos for treats. All day, every day.]

['Tense' is one word for it. Kyouko always enjoyed spending time with Mami, but so much of it centered around their duty as Magical Girls; they had to focus on fighting and surviving. Like being a soldier — a full-time commitment where they risked their lives everyday. Even in their most comfortable, carefree moments, the burdens of their collective fate quietly loomed.

Since coming here they've faced different problems, but none of them have felt equally inescapable. In a way, it's like they've been offered a second life — a life where Kyouko can spend time with Mami without worrying that she might see her friend die each night. Now, for the most part, their time together can be more relaxed, and with the burdens of being a Magical Girl absent, Kyouko's mind is free to fixate on… other things.

Things she's probably not ready for, considering she's still working on how to make friends and be a decent human being. Still, she can feel her chest tightening, and there's a sort of tingly itch around her collar. It takes some effort for her to not also look away.]

If ya get stumped, then I got a few suggestions.

[Spoiler: the suggestions will be cake, cake and cake.]

Still, you're gonna hafta tell me exactly what I'm in for before I agree to anything.

[It pays to be careful with your contracts commitments, after all.]

[Presently, Kyouko's feelings toward Mami are a bit jumbled. What she can take solace in is the knowledge that they'll be together, and whether that means as "sisters" or something else is much less important. Still, there are a few undeniable facts that make the whole situation almost unfair: Mami is pretty, strong, kind, capable… and she can cook like a fiend — which, in Kyouko's book, makes her ideal girlfriend material.

Even if she had the courage to try moving things in that direction, though, part of her would still be worried that it might ultimately screw up what they already have.

Kyouko rubs the back of her neck, wearing what looks almost like a nervous grin.]

More fun for who?

[As for the weight issue… well, it helps to have a skinny frame.]

Tch, and I've never been fat my whole life. I'd die again before I let that happen.
