[Sometime in the evening of the 22nd, a simple text message shows up on the network.]

Fatal wounds are effective on the NPCed real people. A bunch of shadows will come out, so anyone trying that better be prepared to eradicate them right away.

There's a possible side effect you ought to know about, though. After fully healing, the person woke up with no memories. It's been a couple days, and still nothing. The verdict's out on how long that lasts.

Attempt at your own risk. That is, assuming you'd be daring enough to try in the first place.

Is there anything I can do to help? I feel like having Nakamura-san to help us is better in the long run, she seems to know more than anyone else.

You're gonna have to talk to him. He's known her far longer than anyone else.

I couldn't tell you what actually caused them to return, only what efforts I made before they did.

I haven't seen from him much, I suppose I'll have to give him a call.

I'm afraid of my own powers, and the cost they come with by using them. ..I don't want them back.

Then here's a novel idea: don't make a single attempt at using them or getting them back.

They don't automatically come back for everyone. That means there's a hidden set of conditions that need to be fulfilled for it to happen.

What they are globally, I couldn't tell you. Only a few people here had powers, and it's not like anyone conducted official experiments on this. But your chances of not getting them back are probably higher if you do as I suggested. It seems like a logical condition in some variation.

That's somewhat of a relief to know. I want to help my friends, but if I can do it without my powers, then that's what I want to choose.

Weapons and having a working brain would be the way to go then.

Also. I don't give a shit what others think of me, so it makes no difference to me whether you judge me or don't.

You may want to try handguns. They're easier to come by here and take less time to make.

[While he doesn't care what weapons a person chooses to use, there are practicality issues with regards to supply and creation here in the afterlife.]

Unsurprising. To say I've always been a difficult person to deal with is a gross understatement.

[Old habits die hard. His reasons for coming off so abrasive to others matter a lot less here, but he can't help but stick to them. There's no telling how not doing so might screw him over later on.]

I don't know too much about them, the best I can do are flint-lock pistols.

My magic, made it possible to create rifles and pistols. It was a very elegant way of fighting, creating and discarding them once they were fired.

Right. Magic. Well unless you happen to know all the individual parts well enough to recreate them piece by piece using atomic restructuring, most likely that's the end. It's the only way to get weapons around this shithole.

I can do that with my rifles and pistols, but if I can only get a few shots out of them, that makes it a little more difficult..

I wonder if the library has any books on weapons..

Only a little more? I would say something about cost-efficiency, but how you choose to spend your time creating things is shit you need to work out on your own, if you're going to adapt to being magic-free.

Probably. The issue is how much detail you need.

I wonder if it's possible to mix in new advancements with old style weapons.

[ Like a magazine or something for her rifles. Though she's never tried anything like that. She is quite good when mixing recipes though.. ]

With the right knowledge and available tech, maybe.

There's a difference between interest and familiarity.

Maybe there's someone here who knows more about weapons than me. I don't suppose you are an expert, are you Accelerator-san?

Still, it seems like you might actually be a good person deep down.

Clearly your "good person" radar is broken.

[Or more like, someone here has a skewed, somewhat black and white view of good vs evil and still can't see himself as being able to become "good" deep down no matter what he does. Not with his past.]
