afterliving | voice; action for SSS members

SSS members: headquarters to pick up arms. Now. I have enough for each of you. If the shadows are going to start appearing again, I want all of you ready.

We're not going to Guild this time. We're standing and fighting and defending anyone who can't, that stupid NPC they're after or otherwise. If you can't fight, you're taking a weapon just in case. Don't do anything stupid and run if you have to. Those of you who can't fight, come talk to me right away.

[ Yuri sighs, her voice taking on a singsong tone, like she's trying to act like it's not a huge problem. After all, if everyone's terrified then it only makes things worse. ]

I've had it up to here with that stupid boy NPC's face, he should've stayed gone after I shot him in that dumb mug the first time!

If it's like a superpower or something, apparently if you keep on trying to use it it comes back. That's what it seems like has happened to a few others, anyway. I'm not really sure.

Two-handed short or broadsword?

[ She's got a few other weapons, but sword-wise she's already given away one of them and it wasn't like they really used those a ton in the old SSS.

Maybe once this was over they could just work on getting everyone armed. ]

The short ones are two-handed. You can dual-wield right? There were only two choices there.

Yeah, dual wielding's fine, that'll work.

[Or so he hopes, anyway. But fuck it, Ling says it's fine, that's good enough for him.]

Should I come meet you now? The sooner I get myself armed, the better.

[And he actually will hurry, because being defenseless is not something he really enjoys. Especially not after two centuries of being basically unbeatable. It only takes him a few minutes tops to get there.]

[At first as he takes the weapons, he holds them in a way that doesn't suggest that he knows his way around them. But a second later, he relaxes and his stance becomes more casual, yet he's holding the swords with a lot more care. Oh, and his voice changes.]

Heeeey, these are pretty nice! Thanks! Hm... [Ling twirls one of the blades slightly.] Usually I fight with just one sword... but I can handle two just as well.

It's not a problem, I wouldn't blame you. Being leisurely isn't really smart right now.

[ She watches him for a moment, her expression very steady, calm. ]

You're not going to be sloppy with your non-dominant hand?

Not at all. I've trained with two weapons plenty of times. Recently, even.

It's really just a matter of preference, but I can adapt for now.
