Guuuys! If you were crazy enough to not go outside already, then grab a scarf or something and come out here, it's amazing! Kind of weird considering we just had a beach and now it's all... arctic? Antarctic? Anyway! There's penguins! Come out and see, it's so great!

[ From the sound of it, he's already outside, broadcasting with his cellphone. And boy does he sound excited. ]

[ Honestly, it's things like these that make Yamashita forget he's dead. The weirdness of the happenings alienates him each time, but only for a moment, and then he's just into it. It's a good thing sometimes to have a simple one-track-ish mind. He can just honestly enjoy himself now and forget sorrow for a good while.

Wrapped in a lot of clothes that look kind of out of place, Yamashita can be found outside close to a group of penguins, kind of attempting to get closer and pat them on the head. They mostly walk away from him though, presumably thinking 'what a weird enthusiastic kid'. ]

[Didn't you know? Shouma's becoming a NEET. What snowy wonderland could Yamashita be talking about?

Why not though? It's not like anything can really happen here and besides, they're real friendly.

[ Or so he has decided, but the penguins would probably disagree because he's annoying. ]

And besides besides, the ice bears are drinking lemonade, so are these even really wild?

[Oh no that's terrifying news.]

[Black and white...maybe it is them and they've just changed colors. Birds molt over time, don't they?

Hmh? I'm down by the stream, a little away from the school! Soo are you coming out here then after all?

[Shouma accidentally hangs up just after receiving those directions. Given his skill/endurance abilities with chasing trucks, it shouldn't take him very long to reach the stream Yamashita mentioned. No, his directions weren't the most descriptive, but he knows where the stream located is having been in that area recently. ~~Thanks a lot, mistletoe.~~

It's not very far at all, but he'll still be fairly out of breath by the time he arrives. He was treating this whole thing like an Olympic race, after all.]

[ Yamashita already has his attention back on the penguins fully when Shouma arrives, following them around happily, but when he finally hears the footsteps he looks up. ]

Whoa, they wouldn't have run off even if you hadn't hurried so much!

[ Though it's good he's here, really. It's nice to be with Shouma Yamashita feels selfishly and less selfishly he just feels it's nice to see Shouma outside the dorms at all.
Still, if Shouma had expected any sort of more respect to his feelings on private space after the mistletoe-event, he is sadly mistaken. Have Yamashita flying at you for the usual hug procedure. ]

[Shouma's eyes are trained on the penguins, rather than the the owner of that voice. That wasn't even the point!! But he couldn't tell Yamashita about the blue penguin(s) that plagued him back..home. Fortunately, these guys look nothing like those guys, and he sighs.]

[That inattentiveness is rewarded with Yamashita colliding with his body. Cue a lot of hoverhand flailing.]

Yamashita!

[Don't bring up that mistletoe thing!! They're going to scare the penguins off at this rate. This is no way to behave in the presence of an endangered species.]

[ Yamashita has to admit that being close feels a little different now than before, because he actually knows how it could be if something happened-- but 'a little different' is surely not enough to lay off of habits that had become dear to him. So, that means Shouma has to endure his usual greeting procedure while Yamashita keeps on talking as if he wasn't even doing anything. ]

Was what? Isn't it pretty appropriate to be excited about this?

[ Face the misery, Shouma, your unwilling best buddy just likes penguins. Penguin-themed shaky tower game back then should've given you a clue. ]

[He murmurs, and if Yamashita weren't hanging all over him, it probably would have been too quiet for him to hear. It's never acceptable to get excited over penguins behaving abnormally, especially because they're penguins.

One day Shouma will get used to, and even anticipate the glitches and weird reports from Yamashita (and the rest of the residents), but today is not that day. In an effort to catch his last dregs of breath, he gives his peer a little shove (because flailing more is helpful, too) while half-glaring at the animals.

Everything is so troubling always.....]

Did you give them that lemonade? They shouldn't be drinking that stuff.

[ Yamashita at least does Shouma the favor of backing off a tiny bit - after having felt him up a bit, but what's now -, so that he's now only got one arm over Shouma's shoulders. In a way, Yamashita has decided that they are probably better friends now than they were in life - it doesn't exactly play put favorably for Shouma's private space. ]

Even I know that it's not natural! [ He awkwardly shrugs. ] It wasn't me though... so I suppose it's okay? I mean, if they can get in on their own there's probably a use to that.

[Too many favorable things have happened to Yamashita in the afterlife. Of course it'd turn out like that for him. Post-groppage, Shouma seems to have a perpetual glare on his face, but he's fixed on those penguins. It's like every glitch is somehow spurring PTSD.

For the time being, that arm can stay.]

How should I know?

It's not fair to steal food from a kid or from anybody, so same goes for penguins of course! So I couldn't really take a look, let alone test.

[ Be nice to penguins. Treat penguins like you want to be treated. Don't exclude antarctic animals from good manners. ]

Who said anything about stealing?!

[Smoking is bad, but you shouldn't run around batting cigarettes out of— wait, this is a completely different scenario. Why would a penguin, a normal penguin care about anything like that? Unless it were a fish, maybe. Food aggression was something prevalent in animals ~~and Shouma~~ after all.

Stop making him think about weird things.]

What do you mean, 'how did you find them'?

[ Yamashita tilts his head to Shouma awkwardly. His friend sure asks the weirdest question - then again it's not so weird coming from someone who spends way too much time inside and on his own. He really should work on getting Shouma out even more. ]

I went outside! There's no way I wouldn't go and enjoy this snow. And it's not like they're hidden or anything, I had to run into them sooner or later.

[Shouma is really not aware of anything ever. Why would penguins be hiding if they were on a lemonade quest? Why didn't he put a jacket on before coming out here?]

I'm surprised they didn't attack you.

[No he isn't, he's just being a smartass at this point.]

But someone should....do something about them. [Not him.] Isn't it bad to have wild penguins walking around campus?

[ Yamashita doesn't even see the problem. He's developed a tactic of just rolling with whatever the afterlife threw at him and it worked quite well. The school festival had been horrible, but this winter was all kinds of enjoyable for sure. ]

As long as they don't end up making a big mess or anything, it should be fine, right? I kind of like watching them from so up close.

[Yamashita has become so accustomed to rolling with things that he doesn't see just how menacing these guys are. Typical.]

...I didn't bring anything to keep up with them anyway.

[If they were talking about defecating. He didn't bring anything that would help trap and remove them either, though.]

We're just supposed to watch them?

[Animal-watching never ends well.]

I haven't really thought about that... You think there's a reason they're here, something we're supposed to do?

[ Yamashita looks thoughtful for a moment. The penguins could be part of some masterplan plotline, but right now he really doesn't see how that would work. ]

Given most things here settle themselves, just watching and playing sounds like an okay thing to do though.

[Shouma has a feeling that if it were up to Yamashita, he'd deem a lot of problems to be solvable by just taking it easy. At the same time, he hasn't any plans of his own.

But he's had his fill of watching penguins act ~~cute~~ abnormal long ago.]

I'm going back.

[Flat and definitively.]

Huh? Already?

[ His expression pretty much turns to a pout for a moment, but he obviously doesn't object as much as he could have - Shouma is, after all, not dressed very appropriately for the weather. ]

There's nothing else to see.

[Shouma's treating this like a day at the aquarium. Maybe it'd be interesting to see what the lemonade-penguins get up to, but more than anything he's very invested in being a party pooper.

...Plus, it's cold out here.]

Mhm, if you say so...

[ He's kind of disappointed, but after recent encounters he doesn't really want to make Shouma angry by insisting on him staying or doing something else. At least he came out (even if Yamashita doesn't know the real reason) and that counts for something. ]

[Maybe next time Shouma will be more open to the enjoying the glitch — this one was less menacing, in a way, but right now it's 2-0 and being a grumpy killjoy is winning.

He only offers a slight wave, continuing on his way. He should have just asked Yamashita for a picture...]
