[Waking up in a bed of flowers is not something Mary was expecting to do today. Or any day really, given it would have been impossible back at the gallery. And yet here she is, sitting up, surrounded by flowers out in the sunshine.

Did she somehow make it out? This is the outside, isn't it? It's bright. There are lots of people walking around, even if they're just NPCs. This is ticking all the boxes for what Mary's definition of 'outside' is. But if this really is the outside then how did she get here? She certainly didn't get here using the method she was planning to use. Dying definitely wasn't a part of her plan.

... Well, it didn't matter now, did it? She's finally made it out of the gallery. Ib and Garry don't seem to be around, but after what happened she's not sure that she wants to see them right away anyway. For now she intends to enjoy herself and have a little fun before anything or anyone decides to come along and spoil it for her.]

[Having woken up in one of the flower beds by the greenhouses and collected her thoughts, Mary is seriously going to town on these flowers. Red flowers? Yeah, she's going to pick some of those. And a few yellow ones, too. And blue? You better believe she's picking every blue flower she sees. There are just so many pretty colours and so little time! Sorry to any gardening club members that happen to spot her.

Want to tell her off? Point out some particularly pretty looking flowers for her to pick? It's all good.]

[Having successfully made off with a bundle of flowers, Mary is running around the school grounds, handing out the odd flower here and there. She intends to keep most of what she picked for herself, but if she gives out a few flowers then maybe she'll be able to make some friends out of it! Friends like receiving gifts, right? And if a person isn't your friend yet then giving them a gift must make them your friend twice as fast! Yes, that makes sense.

She's trying to give flowers out to anyone who passes by, be they NPCs or otherwise. Once she has her eyes set on someone, Mary runs over and quickly blurts out an introduction before handing over one of her flowers.]

Hey, my name is Mary... Don't you think these flowers are sooo pretty? You can have this one if you like, it really suits you!

Yeah... Not yet. [How many friends do you need to have for it to be considered a lot? Hmm.] I haven't been here very long, but I'll have looots of friends in no time since there are so many people here. That's including you too Madoka, I mean... Would you be my friend?

I'd love to be, Mary-chan! It wouldn't be very fun if someone was all alone in this place, so having a lot of friends does sound nice.. [ Even if she's pretty new herself so she hasn't made a lot of friends yet, but.. ]

[Excellent! It definitely wouldn't be very fun if someone was all alone. Not here or anywhere else. In fact, hearing Madoka talk about being alone only helps to make Mary smile even wider and become even more excitable than she was before.

She's not going to be alone. Not here. With so many people around it just isn't possible.]

I'm so glad! Maybe we can make lots of friends together, so we can have a big group of friends here. Then we can all do things together, like eat sweets, play games... Lots of stuff!

[ Hey, that sounds like a great idea to this girl here! She'd love for everyone to be able to be happy even if it's in a place like this, even if they're dead and all.. it's better than being sad, really. And games do sound like they might work for it. ]

I'll be counting on you then. Hehe, together we can make friends, right? We can start some sort of friends club, maybe, with tons of games and fun! If anyone would be a good leader for that, it'd be you for sure.

[Madoka. Stop. You're giving her ideas... Wonderful ideas. She would be the best person for leading a friends club, wouldn't she? She knows all about making friends after all.

A club, yeah! I can lead, and you can be, uhm... The second leader. Then we find lots of people for our club and have lots of fun! Together!!

[Together being the prime word there, it wouldn't be very fun if Mary missed out on any friend club activities.]

Hmm, I don't think I'm really suited as a leader, so.. um, maybe I can be vice-president or something, that always sounds a lot less scary.. [ She's too scared she'll screw up if you leave her in charge, but she can handle this much! Probably. ]

And then I'll help you with whatever you need for the club too! I'll try my best.

Yeah, that's what I meant! The vice-pres-i-dent... The vice-leader! [Words.] And it won't be scary at all, not even a little bit. Friends aren't scary!

[Friends are the best, zero scariness here. Yup, not scary at all.]

We'll need to think of games we can play, big games for lots of people. And we'll need to find food to keep everyone happy. That's all!

We should probably have a place to play those games too though.. hmm.. something a little like a club room, I guess? This is a school, after all..

[That's okay. Mary will just go find a dictionary so she can look up a ton of 'big words' to use around Madoka. Then who will have the limited vocabulary huh. Best friends.]

It is? Oh, I've never seen a school before. It's a big place! There must be so much free space, all of these buildings can't be full all the time.

Then.. let's find a room together!

[ She smiles, holding out a hand to the other girl. ]

Would you be okay with that, Mary-chan?

[Mary wastes no time in quickly taking a hold of Madoka's hand. The flowers she's still holding are hastily stuffed into her other free hand, some falling to the floor as Mary tries to balance between holding someones hand and keeping her flowers in check.]

Yeah! I'd love to find somewhere for the club with you! We're gonna need a biiig room, with lots of space, and huge windows so it's really bright all the time!!

I'm sure we can find a place like that.. it shouldn't be too difficult in a school this big. [ She's already walking with the girl as she talks. She looks back somewhat sadly at the dropped flowers, but they're half-squished from the fall already.. boo. So she just walks on into the school building. ] Have you ever been to a school this big before?

No, never. [Mary barely noticed she dropped some of the flowers, not really caring if some ended up being left behind on the floor. She's more focused on walking around this school place with her new friend!] There were sooo many windows outside, it must have a lot of rooms! What about you Madoka, have you ever been in a place like this?

Hmm, I went to a school that was probably just as big as this one back home.. ah, maybe it was a slight bit smaller, but it can't have been too much. There were these really, really big classrooms too full of big bright windows..

[ .. man, she's almost getting a little homesick now. ]

[Great, she's homesick, whatever. Focus on what's important here Madoka. The windows, outside things, yeah!!]

Wow, you must have been really lucky to get to go to a school like that. I want to find a classroom for our club that's really bright too, like your classrooms! It should be... Like you're standing outside but you're still inside, that bright.

Let's see, in that case it would probably be the best to find one in a corner somewhere.. then you'd have sunlight from both sides! [ genius. ]

[Before hurrying off up the stairs, Mary grabs a hold of one Madoka's hands and starts dragging her off along with er. Come on, time a'wastin'! Those classrooms upstairs won't wait for them forever.]
