Special Chapter: Lance Corporal Levi

[springcleaning]

[When Levi comes to, he's sopping wet and covered in slimy bile. The last thing he remembers is being swallowed by a Titan. Did it vomit him out before he'd been digested? He shuddered at the thought. He'd rather be dead, than...]

Shit.

[He gags a little, pushing his hands against the grass in front of the school until they're dry enough to get the slop off his face, before looking around.]

[It was nothing like where they had been fighting, but he couldn't be sure of that, with how Titans could move, but... Something felt wrong. Levi looks down at himself, seeing his 3D Maneuver Gear was gone as well. He was vulnerable, he couldn't stay outside.]

[So he goes into the school building, surprised to find it recently used, and looks for somewhere he can clean off.]

[Asuka hasn't been here very long herself, but Levi stands out to her as someone unfamiliar and someone different from the usual NPCs. ...also, he looks gross. She makes a face when she gets closer to him—it looks like he didn't clean up his entire mess.]

What happened to you?

[It's a little hard to wash off when all he's found is a sink, but Levi is doing his best.]

[He looks up at Asuka, expression not changing very much, though there was a bit of a puzzled look about it when he saw her, saw her clothes.]

[Wow, what a rude guy! She's a little taken aback by his response.

...there is irony here that she will never know how to appreciate.]

[He's busy digging bile out of his ear.]

Why the fuck are you outside Wall Rose?

I would say, "He tried!" b u t...

[She's about to return the attitude (something she normally wouldn't do with a stranger, but this guy's just asking for it), but she changes her mind when he mentions this "Wall Rose."]

"Wall Rose?" I've never even heard of that. [She pauses, just for a moment.] Are you okay?

[It's not so much that she's concerned, but maybe he's just... not all there?!]

I was swallowed by a fifteen meter meat sack, thrown up in an unknown location, and am currently being bothered by an ignorant school girl who's probably from the fucking Interior.

I'm swell.

[paintedred]

["Unknown location?" "Interior?"

Actually, she thinks she's starting to understand now.]

Wait, you're new here, aren't you? [...] That's an awfully rude way to talk to someone who knows more about what's going on than you do.

Why should I? You probably won't believe me anyway.

[Then again, she supposes he's allowed to disbelieve her in this situation. But that still doesn't make rudeness okay! She crosses her arms and looks him right in the eye.]

You're dead. We're all dead, and now we're stuck here. Got it?

I don't believe you because that doesn't make any fucking sense.

[He's rude all the time, you get used to it, maybe. Others seem to.]

If I'm dead, how am I here?

[paintedred]

I don't know. But you're not supposed to be here, right? How do you explain that?

Well, since you're dead, I guess that's probably true, too. You probably just don't remember dying. I hear that happens a lot here.

I remember trying to cut my way out of its fucking stomach, and then waking up here.

They fucking vomit up everyone they eat so excuse me for thinking I wasn't fucking dead.

[...wait, what. Not having known what he was talking about at first, she totally missed the whole "being swallowed" thing. But now that she's caught it, she makes a face.]

You were eaten? You were eaten and you expected to come back alive?

[Maybe people usually do...? But it just sounds so weird, so ridiculous.]

Titans don't digest anything, they don't need to eat. So when they're full, they fucking vomit everyone back up. It's fucking disgusting. Everyone suffocates or boils in their stomach though, but I had to fucking hope...

[paintedred]

[She makes a face at his explanation, because it does sound disgusting. She feels sort of bad, too, because telling someone that they're dead reminds her of how she felt when she first found out, and she knows it's not a nice feeling. Even though being blunt was probably for the best, she knows it sucks.]

...sorry. If it counts for anything, I'm pretty sure there aren't any "Titans" or whatever here.

There are back home, where I should fucking be goddammit...

[People died around him every day. Now he had to live with knowing he fucked up on keeping them safe as far as dying instead....]

Why? Were you planning to do something about them?

[Asuka sounds a little bit sarcastic in her response because pfft, fifteen meter giants that like to swallow people up? What's this puny guy gonna do about it?]

I did, frequently. We know how to kill the fuckers, and I'm the best at it.
