[Young (5-9) Sonia Nevermind is standing obediently outside of the school, as if awaiting someone. Occasionally she rocks back and forth on her heels - and by the way, she is dressed incredibly elaborately. Like almost Disney princess ball-gown elaborate. She tilts her head, wondering what's taking so long. Dare you ask what she's waiting on?]

[VOICE]

[Sonia's mastered the phone at that age anyway, so she calmly states the following message.]

Is this the police? I would like to report my own kidnapping. I cannot name the assistants or give you a proper description , but it is of utmost importance that I be returned to my father and mother immediately. I await your correspondence.

How troublesome. [ ... ] But you have no recollection of your kidnappers, correct?

No... but Father said that kidnappers can use horrible drugs to knock me out, so I mustn't eat any foods or drinks a stranger offers me.

Your father gives excellent advice. Of course, with no means to trace the kidnappers, there's little I can offer you in that regard.

I'm not sure how easily you could return home, either.

The police will take me home. They will catch the kidnappers and punish them swiftly!

What are these police you keep mentioning?

[ where he's from there are a lot of different forms of law enforcement — but not quite police. ]

The police are... the police!

[baby sonia doesn't have the entire thesaurus expansion her older self does.]

They catch bad people and punish them!

I'm not sure there's a designated force for that here.

[ but ... ! ]

Of course, I would be interested in bringing justice to guilty parties, if they could be found.

Hmmm... well... I guess I could make you an official officer of the court! Yes, as princess, I deem you... police-man!

[ oh, that's actually ... very cute. ]

While I appreciate the sentiment, I lack the proper training for such a title, princess.

If I deem you a policeman, you're a policeman! It's too late, because I said so!

Then perhaps you'd like to direct me to my duty?

Your first order will be to find the kidnappers and bring them swift justice! Then you will take me home to Mother and Father!
