Is it working now? I still don't get these stupid things- Ah! [Oh awesome, he got the video working. He might have been here for a few weeks now but it was still quite the challenge to work some of the technology here. Enjoy your video of a guy with a white streak in his hair and pointy ears, afterlife.] Hey, uh, I'm Caius. Caius Qualls.
... Do any of you have Leimorne where you're from? Back home I was fighting to help the humans and Leimorne come to trust each other, one of my friends was even gonna start a whole organization about it when the lycanth hunt was over and we stopped the King's plans.
[He's really hoping someone here knows what he's going on about, otherwise he's just going to end up speaking a load of gibberish.]
So I wanted to ask, do any of you have people who aren't human where you're from and do you get along with them? Like there's no difference between how you and them are treated.
[And that's it, there's his message. While waiting for replies, Caius will be fiddling around with the laptop he's using. Adjusting the camera, tapping buttons, just generally messing around to see if he can get a better grasp on these things.]
[Action]
[It might be possible to spot smoke billowing out from the trees behind the dojo later in the day. Not like rolling clouds of the stuff, but a thin stream of black smoke that rises up into the sky and could easily be spotted by anyone walking around the school grounds today.
Should anyone investigate the source of the smoke, they'll find Caius in a small clearing with a well lit campfire nearby. There are a few sticks set aside in a pile in case the fire needs tending and it's surrounded by small rocks to keep it under control.
Caius is standing a short distance away from the fire, wielding a long stick he picked up in one of his hands. He swings the stick back and forth a few times before talking out loud to himself.]
Come on, I've done this hundreds of times... Demon Fang! [...] How about this, Sword Rain!
[He's trying to get his artes to work, but he isn't have much success. Luckily, most of his artes are just various sword swings, so he can emulate them pretty well even if they lack the power and speed his artes usually do. Care to interrupt his little camp out-slash-training session?]

action;
What's a Demon Fang? [He's swinging it like a sword though.. is this guy trained with them?]
action;
Uh- It's an arte. [That probably didn't explain much.] It's like a technique you can use in a fight, I guess.

Doesn't look like you're pulling it off.
no subject
And that's because I'm not... I don't get why though. It's not like this is anything new for me.
no subject
Hum- well, this one girl said she was a sorcerer and could do magic and stuff but now she can't.
Is it like magic? Bet that's why.
no subject
They're not like magic, that's a lot more difficult to pull off. [At least for him anyway. Magic and precept artes are hard. And require studying.] But it's not like they're normal sword swings either... Demon Fang is meant to send out a shockwave along the ground, all I'm doing is kicking up dirt though.
no subject
I don't know, guy, magic an't all that easy. So this move of yours is some kinda not-magic magic that your sword uses? Or.. you use? Sounds like magic to me.. not that I've ever seen somebody use magic before or anything, that's just in story books for kids.

[Jean's finally coming around to the idea that people have to be from completely different world, times, and universes.. there is just no way something like this guy could exist in his world.]
no subject
[Might as well use that as an example, since he got in an argument with some guy over what they are.]
no subject
If your worlds got magic and shit than I titan wouldn't be too far off, got monsters running around right? They're sorta like that, apparently we even got people that can change into titans but I've never seen em do it.
I think that's just a bunch of shit talking.
no subject
But yeah, my world has monsters roaming about all over. I don't know about people turning into monsters or titans, but my world has Leimorneans.
[And the Leimorneans sure as heck aren't monsters, even if some people in his world are terrified of them and think they're to do with monster attacks.]
no subject
Lei...morneans? Okay, you're going to have to explain..
no subject
They're people from my world who can transform into beastmen. They're a lot stronger than humans, a lot of people treat them the same way they would treat a monster.
no subject
Okay fine, what do they look like if they aren't monsters? You can transform into them? I find that hard to believe.. [He comes from a world with magic though.. that's a little more believable over people turning into titans.]
no subject
And they look... A lot like humans, only with fur. And more beast like faces-- [Is that helpful at all? He's trying to think of another way to explain it when he's suddenly caught off guard by the next thing Jean said.] I can transform, yeah, I'm half Leimornean after all.
no subject
They look like people? With fur? How tall are they? Just as tall as you are?
And you can do that whacky transforming shit? You know, people back home try and pull this one on me too but I don't believe em, because guess what? I'm not an idiot. [okay Jean]
no subject
And who cares? I'm not from where you're from, it's not like I'd lie about something like this. [Huff.] If you don't want to believe me then whatever.
[He'll keep his thoughts about Jean being an idiot to himself. He had to deal with Kyon not believing him, so he can deal with another person feeling the same way.]
