[ For the past few days, since she'd awoken in this strange new place, Peko had taken it upon herself to investigate her new surroundings. It was prudent to gather as much information as possible, especially in the case that things went as badly here as they did back on the island. Granted, she probably looked a little ridiculous to anyone who happened upon her in her attempts to investigate every corner of the place, but it could not be helped.

Once she felt confident in her acquisition of the lay of the land, Peko made her way to the library. She had found the computer network on a prior expedition, but hadn't felt the need to announce her presence at the time.

When the voice recording starts up, the sound is of a calm, sharp woman's voice. ]

Hello. I am called Pekoyama Peko, and I believe that I am considered to be "new here".

I have had the basics of this place explained to me, although I will admit to a few questions....such as why the afterlife occurs in a high school of all places. However, I imagine the answer to that question is not widely known.

[ A pause. ]

More importantly, I seek a weapon. I have heard of the dangers of the shadows, and I would also like to keep my swordsmanship skills from becoming rusty from disuse.

[ Plus, she feels a sense of discomfort, being disarmed at the moment - even if there are no clear and present threats, she was unused to not having any sort of weaponry on her person. ]

Any assistance that can be offered in procuring a sword would be much appreciated.

I have never done so before, but I suppose I can if need be. Would there be a place to acquire the necessary supplies, then?

[Sonia gasps - another one of the dead! All of her emotions begin to build up, and she struggles to speak. Tears are already starting to roll down, and she reaches out, as if she could touch Peko there.]

Pekoyama-san... Pekoyama-san!

[ There's definite surprise in Peko's voice when she next speaks - she certainly didn't expect to be greeted by someone she recognized. ]

Sonia? Why are you here?

Pekoyama-saaan...

[She hiccups and sniffles, trying to compose herself.]

Some of the others are here too! Tanaka-san, and Hinata-san! And other students from Hope's Peak academy! They were trapped by Monokuma too!

Other students...were they trapped on the other islands, perhaps?

[ Granted, the one she saw was empty save them, but perhaps the others have students on them as well? ]

That...is a great many of you, however. I had hoped that nobody else would come to harm...I almost fear to ask what happened.

[ Or whether or not a certain someone is still alive, although the fact that he is not present is slightly reassuring. ]

No, they were trapped within the academy itself, made to go through those same terrible trials! Who knows where else that terrible bear has been... And as for us, things only continued to gt worse. Monobear continued to give us bigger and bigger motives, giving us diseases and starving us! More innocent lives were lost, all for nothing.

Even the school itself was unsafe...

[ How on earth did Monobear manage all of this? First the Jabberwock Islands, then the school... ]

Starvation...I see. Monobear would stop at nothing to achieve his goals of "mutual killing".

[She swallows, trying to calm down, even if it isn't easy. She swallows hard, taking a moment to catch her breath despite the tears.]

I'm so sorry you were forced to do those things, Pekyoama-san. You deserved better than that. Kuzuryuu-san... he kept living on for you... he did everything he could for your memory.

[ There's a long pause, as she takes that in. ]

There was nothing you could have done. As a tool, I have committed many such crimes...I am used to it by now.

I am only glad to hear that the young master continued on.

But... He never considered you a tool! He spoke to us about you, so much, he spoke with such pride and happiness about you... And because of you, he became so much kinder, and he helped us out in many ways. You would be so proud of him! We couldn't have gone as far as we did without him.

[ That's...that's right, isn't it. The whole reason she'd resolved to live with her whole being is because he'd asked her to, to stay by his side as herself, not as a tool. ]

...That is why I have resolved to change my way of thinking.

[ There's a surprising amount of emotion in her voice, so she takes a second to swallow it down. ]

The young master has always been very kind, even as he has tried to project a strong image.

... And now we know him all the better for it. And I hope, with this opportunity, we can start knowing the real you in much the same way.

I do not know that it will be as rewarding....

[ Because let's face it, even she doesn't know the real 'Peko'. ]

It's not that hard.

[ Haruhi merely shrugs. It's true what she's saying, at least. For Haruhi's perspective, anyway. Then again, she's used to people coming and going. But this has been the first time in a while since lots of people have shown up. ]

Just find a pile of dirt and recreate the supplies from memory. Yuri talked about it in her last post. It's called atomic restructuring.

So that is what she meant...I see. I will have to try this "atomic restructuring" for myself.

[ Although her voice still sounds somewhat doubtful. Hey, even if this is the afterlife, it's hard to believe that dirt can magically become steel and wood. ]

If you want me to help you, I don't mind. It's not like I have any student council meetings to go to today.

Wood is perfectly suitable for practice. I work often with my shinai, in addition to my blade.

By "fake beast", you mean Monobear, I presume?
