2nd Chapter // ► Video (Spoilers? for SNK in the video.)

[springcleaning]

[Levi's video is pretty cool actually. He's the best of the best, no one can compare to him when it comes to killing Titans, most of which are 10m-15m in the video as he swings around them on his 3D-Maneuver Gear and falls all but a few with a swift blow to the napes of their necks. Blood rains down, splattering against the "screen" taking the video (for effect?) though none seems to touch the lance corporal.]

[It's just simple bad luck when the biggest one of them grabs his ankle and lifts him above its mouth. Even worse luck when Levi slices away its fingers to get out of its grip and both of his blades go blunt, the last two in his gear. The worst comes, though, when he makes to swing out of its maw and it clamps down around him instead, right before he can release the gas on the equipment.]

[The video cuts out to an inside view of the Titan's stomach, where he stabs hopelessly at its insides with dull blades, slowly sinking into the bile around him, a sea of corpses floating around him, those who fell to misfortune before him, some of them his close companions, all of them soldiers. With a cry of anguish, he sinks one blade into the Titan's stomach but it bends under his weight and snaps before he can do anything else. He slips under the stomach acid and the video shorts out.]

[Levi watches it for himself and snorts, sitting at a table he's commandeered in the cafeteria and leaning back on his chair with a bored expression on his face.]

When the fuck did I get so fucking bad at this? Wasn't my day, apparently. Bet Erwin is pissed.

So that's a Titan, huh?

[ Man, guignols don't seem so bad compared to this. Kohaku hates to admit that to himself. He'd like to think his world is the most damned and cursed place and maybe it is, but that world there surely doesn't look pretty either.
He also has to admit the way to fight them is pretty cool, but the sword-ish blades ruin it a bit for him. ]

They look pretty disgusting, man. [ He idly wonders what Gwindel would say to this - that man had been able to see art in the guignols, but in these fleshy things? ]

[Levi doesn't even bother looking at the video screen, leaning his head back as he tips on his chair. His hands goes off screen a moment and he brings a cup of tea to his lips, fingers around the rim as he sips at it, looking almost bored.]

Bastards are probably ruining everything back home more than fucking usual now I'm gone.

[Levi you've been out of commission for like ten chapters anyway don't be that cocky.]

[ Though he has to admit that whenever things go crap-sack surprisingly little people try and bring a change to it. One man could make a difference in such conditions. ]

The rest of your guys will have to learn and stand their ground or you'll see them again soon.

Bunch of them already have, they're not fucking here. Makes sense a girl like Petra woulda' made her peace already, though. Fuck if I know for the rest of them.

Maybe they just don't want to see you again and disappeared as soon as they heard of your arrival. Couldn't blame them.

[Oh. What a gruesome video... Celica already saw one of Haruhi before, and now here's another, this time of Levi fighting something that she can only assume is a titan and... being eaten by it... well. Kind of terrifying, to put it simply. She's not even sure how to compare that to the Black Beast.]

Was... was that a titan?

[He looks up at her from where he's sitting, sipping a cup of tea with his fingers wrapped around the lip like one would hold the lid of a jar.]

Yeah. Nasty fuckers, aren't they?

[She nods, looking over at Levi.]

Y-yes, definitely... They're really gruesome... I'm not even sure how to compare them to the monster we had back at home, but they're without a doubt terrible.

You only had one monster? Shouldn't have been a problem, then.

Well, it's not as simple as that... It was huge. Bigger than the size of several buildings combined, both in terms of height and width... Like a whole city. And on top of that, its existence somehow made it so that all other animals became aggressive and not like themselves.

[ It honestly took Ichigo quite some time to reply to this. She was shocked at it. Anyone in the computer lab when she'd seen it had heard her scream and start crying and thought something was wrong. Even if she barely knew him, even if she didn't know much about Titans, she didn't know it was this bad. She'd never seen anything like this, let alone with someone she'd met.

Ichigo was scared when she saw him fighting, even when it was cool. Then when he ended up in its stomach...

The kinds of things everyone else has been through makes her wonder exactly what she ended up here for. She knew she had to have some kind of missing memories besides nearly getting everything she wanted before it was taken away when she was killed, but if everyone went through things this bad then she didn't want to know..

She just felt really bad that Levi had to go through that, she really did. And when Ichigo feels bad, her baking suffers. Which means despite that she tried to distract herself by making sweets, she done fucked up and decided to just clean up and headed into the cafeteria to get some sweets to eat instead.. when she spotted Levi.

Even if she'd managed to stop herself from crying, when she saw him again she had to put her plate with cake on it down and abandon it for the moment. Because she was about to start crying again, and she went to run over to try to hug him while crying because she just has a lot of emotions especially after seeing him die like that and she doesn't know how to deal with it and she wants him to feel better because if she feels this bad, then he must feel absolutely horrible for having to die like that! ]

[Crying women aren't really his forté. Actually, he doesn't know how to deal with them at all. What he does know is, that her sudden hug knocked the chair off balance and he's on the floor in a second. Even with his reflexes, he's not that good. Maybe that's why he managed to die.]

[Now he's on the ground. Gross gross gross gross... The mysophobe picks himself up quickly, shoving her back and brushing his clothes off, smoothing out any wrinkles, before flat lining her with a glare.]

What the fucking hell are you doing?

[ She's obviously still frantic by the time they get back up. Normally she'd apologize for knocking him over, but she seems to not even realize it (she's just used to falling over on her own so she moves on from it pretty quickly) and balls her fists up near her chest, looking like she's trying not to cry and failing pretty hard. ]

I-I saw..! I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry! [ She's just burying her face in her hands now. ]

[He stares at her. Fucking... crying women. Reminds him why he hates being around civilians.]

Oh... that thing? [Looks at the video screen.]

I'm here, aren't I? You fucking knew I was dead.

Yeah, but I didn't know it was that horrible! That-- that thing was a titan? You dealt with those all the time!?

[ She just doesn't know how to handle this... ]

[Levi doesn't look up at the screen, lifting a cup of tea to his lips.]

Fucking welcome. Titans are disgusting trash that need taken out and burned.

[He reaches with his free hand to pat the back of his neck for example.]

Ten centimeters wide, one meter across.

[ Someone looks both surprised and ecstatic at the same time, her eyes bright. ]

But you know, I've been wondering... why are those things attacking, anyway?

Even fucking bigger in person. The screen makes them seem too damn small.

[He pauses, thinking about it a moment before he shrugs.]

No one knows where they came from. All we know is we gotta fucking fight.

... Seriously? It might just be a huge misunderstanding, you know! I mean, just because they're big and inhuman might mean that they're acting a little bit like animals, not knowing anything about the world.
