Did anyone else get a weird letter a couple weeks ago?

I was only here for a few days and I got one. It was a little weird at first, but I want to know who really sent them out. I figure I should at least thank them for going out of their way to notice someone new like me.

No idea. I think a lot of people got them though. Inviting you out on some kind of date, right?

Yes, that's right. Did you get one, too?

Yeah, I did. At least the person I ended up with was someone I knew, so it didn't take too long for things to sort things out.

And you're sure it wasn't just them playing some kind of weird trick?

Well, she seemed just as confused as I was, and it clearly wasn't an isolated incident either.

Yeah, I guess you're right... Maybe it was nothing, but it just seems too suspicious.

[slave_of_suzumiya]

I didn't say it was nothing, just that the person I got paired up with was just as duped as I was. ... It doesn't really matter in the long run or anything though.

That's what I mean. It doesn't seem like something that will come back to haunt us later.

[Or at least, it better not. Or there will be blood.]

At least you've got free reign to do whatever to the culprit if it does? I mean, it's not like they'll die if you kill them or anything.

I wouldn't want to do anything to them. [A dirty, dirty lie!] I can't say the same for everyone else, though.

[Leon seemed pretty passionate about getting them back, after all.]

Anyway, you said you were new here? How you finding it so far? Other than that incident.

I guess it's not that bad. It almost doesn't even feel like we're dead. Who would have thought the afterlife would be a school?

It's not exactly heaven, but if being stuck in high school forever is what possibly qualifies as "hell", it's a lot milder than I expected.

There are definitely worse places we could be.

At least it seems like we've got plenty of freedom here, too.

Honestly, a lot of us don't even bother attending the classes. I mean, it's not like we're going to have to graduate and go into the real world or anything.

[What if there are dead people jobs...?!]

Well, as far as I can tell, Yurippe has apparently been here long enough to confirm there isn't?

I hope she's right. Forcing us to get jobs and pay bills sounds lot more like hell than being stuck in school for the rest of our not-lives.

I don't think we're getting any older either. So we're teenagers forever basically...

That sort of makes sense, at least. I know I'm not complaining.

Right, we're dead forever, so at least we don't have to worry about becoming decrepit old folks over the next 100 years or whatever.

Considering we're stuck here, I think keeping us from getting old is the least they can do for us.

Being dead hasn't actually been half as bad as you'd think. It's much like being alive, except you can't actually die again.

And most of the people aren't really people. But I guess it's easy enough to forget about the NPCs sometimes.

They're mostly harmless. From your own perspective, they're not all that different to any classmate you never spoke to while alive. They exist, but are largely inconsequential to your own existence.
