I'm sure everyone's noticed by now how many people are in comas. I've got an idea how it happened, but.. I have no idea how to fix it. The best we can do now is to hope that we can find the Programmer and stop him from taking the rest of us. I had an idea a while ago that I talked over with Accelerator, then I spoke to that Ai NPC about it so she's been working on it. She's almost done writing what we need, so I need to talk to all of you in person. SSS room, one hour. I've texted the password to the phones of the two people I could find that weren't comatose.

[ Yuri's sitting on her desk instead of in the big imposing chair that she normally ran these meetings from. There were people who weren't in the SSS here anyway, it wasn't really a formal meeting. Despite that, it was all business. ]

Welcome to < Operation: Final Boss >. [ She knew the name was corny, but it was her attempt at finding something, anything that they could take humor in so that they didn't all feel like it was hopeless. Because it wasn't, because they were going to win. Yuri hoped, anyway. She crosses her legs, both hands on the desk by her side as she speaks, her expression not showing any mirth, real or false. ]

We've all lost a lot. I'm not saying that this is going to solve all of our problems, and if you think the best way for you to get out of this is to accept your life and disappear, then don't feel as though anyone is going to blame you for that. The choice is yours, and you're welcome to do that. But I want you all to listen to this idea first, and those who want to stay can stay and fight.

[ And with that, Yuri proceeds to explain the plan. The last time she had to go through this, she went off on her own. She'd tried to protect everyone without help, and it nearly caused everyone to fail. She wouldn't pull away from everyone this time. She would be their leader and she would be there fighting with them this time. That was the only way they could win..

[ There were a great many things that Yurippe was willing to do. Being a guy wasn't one of them, however..

Being Accelerator and goofing around with it fell into the willing group. Mostly because it was amusing as hell, and acting out after she'd had a somewhat.. emotional situation before was something she was known for doing. Which means that the video feed is going to turn on and instead of Yurippe, Accelerator's face appears with a suave smirk and his hair slicked back like he was some kind of playboy. She even got a flower from around campus. The fact that it was from her username on the network was probably the only thing that would give it away, since it wasn't as though she knew how to sign onto anyone else's account. ]

Hello ladies, gentlemen. I, the great, powerful, and grumpy Accelerator-sama, have decided to grace you with my presence!

[ "Accelerator" holds out the flower as though she's offering it to everyone, then puts it between her lips like she's ready to do the tango or something ridiculous, getting out of the chair that she was sitting in and backing up to do a sexy dance... but then the camera falls over and there's a lot of crashing noises and possibly an explosion? Then the video feed cuts out. Oops. ]

Found iiiiiit~!

Heh, this glitch has been a lot of trouble, hasn't it? I lost my phone for a while and was unable to contact any of you before now, but I've been looking for the source area of the glitches. It probably won't help me get there, but if aaaanyone's seen one area more than any others that seems to be affected, please let me know! It's likely there will be a number of shadows there.

I've discovered a hint for those looking for something to drink. If you boil any liquid, it seems to become ice cold water. Getting the fire to work properly can be tricky, but it's important to keep hydrated, buddies!

I tried to clear a few areas individually, but it seems like the glitch redevelops itself unless I can find the source. Also, there are no unaffected areas, which means that the Programmer and Fantoche should be locatable as well. I would appreciate it if anyone who finds them aims to capture. I can fix Fantoche-san and return him to his intended self if we can find him, and I'm sure that there are many questions you all have for the Programmer.

[ He is her creator after all, she doesn't necessarily want him destroyed if she can return him to how he's meant to be. ]

[Seeing the Student Council doing their business all the time... The lovely Student Council full of pretty girls and... and... that NPC. Even with Haruhi gone now, the NPC is still surrounded by beautiful women constantly. Inigo has been holding his tongue for quite some time now, but now... now... he's through with that! No more holding back! And so he expresses his concerns with a video post today. Except his voice may sound very whiny. And his eyes may have some tears in their corners.

This is a very emotional matter, okay.]

I've... I've had it! Just standing around and watching him walk around with such lovely women around him at all times is horrible! I want to be him! Joining the lady-filled Student Council and being the only man... Why didn't I think of that?! I want that life! It's... it's just... n-not fair...!

He does his best to ignore it however, so he goes around with his normal business, being a little cautious of any strange glitches popping up. Little does he know, one had already taken effect... So when Inigo approaches your character, his voice is... oddly high-pitched. Compare his normal normal voice to, let's say, Timmy Turner from the Fairly Odd Parents.]

[ He clears his throat, as though trying to get himself to the point. ]

That program made her, but you all accept her. You think you can use her against me? You don't think she could be dangerous because your enemy wants her gone. I see, I see. But she is. She is, and we warned you, but if this world falls apart it'll be too late. Can't wait for you to realize she's wrong.

Those glitches... they're mine, you know. The last couple. If they happen on accident, they can happen on purpose. You just have to-- [ He snaps his fingers. ] click-! The right place.

No more hiding now if there's nowhere to hide. If you all want the world to fall apart, then so shall it be.

( Cut for introspection. )

Yuri put her phone away and stood up, heading over to where Hinata had kept his gun. Hers had been in the dormitory and she hadn't brought them along since she was an NPC at the time and had to practically be kidnapped as a rescue attempt. She'd made a knife, but she was taking Hinata's gun. It was most of what she had left of him now and she took a brief moment to stare at it, her eyes a little cold compared to what they normally were. She took a deep breath. She knew how to shut herself down, she'd done it plenty before. She just had to maintain it.

...Still, she couldn't lose anyone else. Yuri raised her head as she tucked the gun into the holster beneath her shirt on her back side, then called out. ]

Kohaku!

[ He'd better be in the house or she was going to kill him, and that wasn't a joke this time. ]

TEXT, LATER THAT NIGHT
Hinata, Haruhi disappeared.

Tired of waiting for the Programmer to make his next move. I'm looking for ideas to take the dorms back, then once we regain our ground, we're taking him down. I'm tired of waiting to see him buried 6 feet under for the rest of his afterlife.

I was going to have a meeting about how to obtain the restaurant tonight for Mami's maid cafe. I'm canceling the meeting and telling you what's happening here and now. Ask me any questions over the network.

Mami and Kirino, you two are members of the student council, so you won't be doing anything that specifically breaks rules. We'll have the NPC cordone off the area to make it a safe place from shadows. There are two houses with no one in them, she can let go of one to cover the restaurant. I already discussed it with her. Here's the plan:

After curfew hits, all members of the SSS are to head to the restaurant to assist with redecoration under Mami's supervision, as it will be her cafe.

Any questions, ask me here. I'm not seeing anyone until tonight, I'll be busy.

[ This is the worst, the absolute worst. Kohaku's never been one to deal well with stress - he's a ticking bomb at all times and for every month in the afterlife he's been calm, his explosive power now intensifies. Things had been going well for a while - he'd been almost ... happy, for a lack of better word. His past is horrible, he's failed big time in his lifetime, but here there had been people with a use for him - people he hadn't failed yet, people he could work with... No, people he chose to work with. It was ridiculous, but in death there was a place for him.
He'd let his guard down. And he regrets it. While he's still bitter about losing Sena, Hinata and Haruhi just head to go ahead and disappear as well. Kohaku doesn't have the level-headedness to take it as anything else but a personal offense. Haruhi... he told her he'd drag her back from being an NPC no matter what, so she'd gone ahead and done with worse thing. Disappeared entirely. Kohaku never knew if he had been friendly with her, but he needed her around, needed her music to play off with his own.
Kohaku is used to losing people. People died on him literally all the time when he was alive - it was normal. Here, too, people came and went just like that. He thought he was immune to the pain of it, but he'd been wrong. It hurts more when it feels like betrayal and above all it hurts more when it's about people he might have... just a tiny bit... been opening himself, too. They were SSS, they were the closest thing to a home he knew.

The message he has for the network is brief and angry - there's pain down under, but anger is a realm he knows. Being angry is what he does, a security blanket for every situation. ]

[ voice ]

If any of you fuckers has any intentions of disappearing soon, better say it now.

[ There is nothing he could do even if they didn't announce it, but if anybody spoke up now, he could at least try and beat the crap out of them for it. ]

Since all of you seem to be musically illiterate, I don't suppose anybody can compose. Well, too fucking bad, because Haruhi's gone and the band's now out of new songs and also fucking instrumental only.

Also what the hell is up with the sleeping thing, I'm bloody tired by now. [ Guess who's not slept a solid while despite loving sleeping? ]

[There's no way he can stay in the house when he feels like this - it would end in destruction and he at least has the decency to take that outside. He can be seen walking through the safe area and kicking literally everything he can see, trash bins, benches, walls, everything. Approach him at your own risk, he might be looking for a fight. ]

2nd Shadow: Action

[This evening, Yuuko can be seen near the very back of the side of House H with a large, slab-like rock of some sort. She appears to be erecting it in a hole she'd dug; the shovel used for that is nearby, tossed aside once she had finished digging. There is also a tangled rope near the shovel, possibly used in dragging such a heavy object as that rock to this spot. She first fills in the gaps between the rock and the sides of the hole around it, using up the dirt she'd dug up, and afterward crouches onto her knees to return to finishing the carvings gouged into the rock, humming absently to herself as she does so. Most of the rock has solidified into the rock she remembers, but she left the front part very dirtlike so she could keep working on writing everything that was supposed to be on there. Not all of the names immediately come to mind. Maybe if instead of going off of memory, she keeps relying instead on whom she remembers died during the epidemic, and gouges as many of those in as she can, that will be close enough. It's a large rock, so there's plenty of room. And of course, the inscription toward the bottom, plus the later names scrawled on top of everything from after the rock's initial purpose in being erected.

She did most of the work while in her room, away from the possibility of being walked in on or interrupted. Now that she's on to the finishing touches, it wouldn't be difficult for someone to catch her caught up in her task. The finishing touches will take a while.]

[ The feed starts with a tiny bit of rocky - even violent - violin music - nothing long, just a few notes to get everyone's attention. He's still dreading having to play rock over classic, but he's trying to get people to listen here and it's not like he's learned nothing from a year of rock band. The violin he uses is sadly enough a school one - his own's still locked in the dorms. ]

Alright, listen up here! This is hardly news for anybody who's not living under a rock, but I'm member of the SSS band. You've probably heard us at some events and missions - and if you haven't, you've missed out big time.

Here's the deal: we're in dire need of new members. There's no way all of you are fucking useless, so if you play an instrument better speak up now or I'll come find you some other time. [ You don't want that. ]

I've went through the trouble of getting a fuckton instruments out of the school, so you'd better fucking show up at House A and audition. I don't even give a damn anymore if you're an expert or not - if you like music and are willing to fucking work your ass off to get good at it, show up. And if you have any questions left, then ask now.

[ He kind of forgot to mention any benefits because he thinks the benefits of getting to make music are obvious - he may sound like the biggest ass in the universe right now, but he loves what he does and he loves that he gets to do something for it. Characters can either direct questions at him via the phones or show up to show off any skills - or lack thereof.
Unless the audition-ee player states otherwise, I'm opening all auditions for threadjacks by housemates. ]

[ OOC: this post is actually forward dated to the afternoon of the 19th because he'll need the morning of that day to get instruments out of school. I just got overexcited and inspired and wrote it now. I'll tag back tomorrow though after my finals are over OTL ]

[ Today, from the confines of her room, Inaba decides to play nice and send a text out to everyone. Of course, she doesn't plan on leaving her room any time soon. Not that anybody needs to know that unless you're living with her in House H.

But she doesn't plan on opening up her room to anybody at the moment. Though she opens the feed with a smile. In the background of the room, there's several cans of Key Coffee and bowls of ramen just sitting there, though they're neatly placed. ]

Well, I'm not all that great at introducing myself to others nor am I good at starting these posts off when I'm using video, so I'll get right to the point here. I'm pretty sure all of you know that there was a workshop yesterday. I went and I learned a lot, so now I'm actually working on something that might interest all of you.

[ She then holds up a small memory chip in her hand, the grin on her lips still there. ]

I don't know if there's anybody else here who's actually interested in computers or knows anything about them, but my plan right now actually is to build one. Actually, I'm building a laptop from scratch to see if it won't help us out a little bit. The only problem with this is the fact that I don't know if I'll have to build an OS from scratch or use the afterlife's OS system. I don't really trust these Winding computers, especially since there's a possibility that if I use that OS, Angel Player might integrate with it, and that's not what I want.

What I do plan on doing once it's finished - and it should take me about a month, maybe a month and a half - is see if I can't write programs that go around the Angel Player and affect the afterlife. I know this is probably a long wait, but right now, it's better than nothing. That is, unless anybody else has any other suggestions at this point.

So if anybody has any suggestions as to something I can program when it's done, feel free to ask me. And if anybody wants me to build anything technology related, I can attempt to do that as long as it's not something too complicated.

I think that's about it! Again, if you have any questions or comments, those would be highly appreciated.

So she's sitting in the chair with hair properly drill-like, and a smile on her face, her uniform perfectly pressed and clean. When she wants to, she really puts off an air of dignified grace, even if she's younger than many of the high schoolers here. ]

Hello everyone. If you don't know, my name is Mami Tomoe. I want to thank everyone who voted for me for the position of Secretary on the Student Council. I promise I will do my best to assist the president and vice-president in their goals for the student council. Of course, if anyone has something they'd like to bring up to the student council, please come talk to me at anytime.

With that out of the way, I wanted to gauge interest in something I've been thinking about..

[ Mami reaches off camera to find a piece of poster board and hold up to the camera against her stomach, with her large chest sort of hanging over the top..

On the poster Mami has written "School Cafe" in big blocky letters, with glitter everywhere. There are cut outs from magazines all neatly pasted on the off-white background, pictures of maid dresses, pots of tea, snacks, and a handsome boy dressed as a butler. It's girly and cute and still done with a sense of style to it, even if it looks a little haphazard. ]

My friend Yamashita-kun and I came up with the idea of starting a school cafe, as a club or group activity. Something to have a place for others to come and drink, eat, and socialize after school. We could use a little help getting started, but we'd also like to see what others thought of our idea. See? The waitresses and waiters could even dress as maids and.. [ Oops, her boobs are in the way, she has to pull the board out to show the butler a little better. ] ..and butlers. I think it could be fun.

IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE!!

Accel had a good idea. I'm not going to ask all of you to spill your secrets to me or anything, but by now I'm going to hope that most of you have at least one or two people you trust.

So everyone drop their name here if you're willing to volunteer to hold secret someone's important moments. If you want to trust someone with your important memory as a precaution in case you get caught by the shadows, reply to them in a locked thread.

If you would rather be shot instead of telling someone a way you think might be able to save you, I'll volunteer to take anyone out quickly and painlessly.

ADDITIONALLY: I keep getting a ton of requests for atomic restructuring, so I'm going to do a workshop on Friday at 1pm. Show up or don't complain. And if you do show up, don't complain either. Even if you're a genius at picking things up, it'll take at least 3 hours to even make a little pin. It's not easy, it takes a lot of concentration and imagination, and you're going to have to practice on your own.

If there aren't any questions, make a comment to volunteer if you're willing to help with any of those.

Ah ha, I'm not sure I understand this whole NPC thing, but I think I'd like to avoid turning into one in the future! Not having any memories is no fun at all. And Greed's not telling me a whole lot either, which is a hassle since I don't even really know who he is yet. Other than that he's really grumpy and he keeps calling me 'Prince'!

I wonder if he's being literal about that or not?

I also wonder if I should feel weirder about waking up with no memories and a voice stuck in my head after having apparently been killed. Maybe I should be freaking out or something. But mostly I feel...

She hasn't been doing anything useful as of late, so she might as well make a small announcement. (Also note the fact that she's actually in the computer lab for the time being.)

[It's been two weeks since Riki was de-NPC'd, but the whole ordeal had him more or less keeping to himself afterward for a while. Not to mention, his best friend's birthday was only days ago, so he had been thinking a lot about his time alive, his home world, the Little Busters, etc. Feeling significantly better today though, he decides to go ahead and check up on everyone and whatnot after classes.]

It looks like bringing up memories really does work, because here I am, ahah... I'm sorry to those I was inconveniencing as an NPC, but I'm back now. I was a little afraid of going back to attending classes with all of the shadows around, but it looks like they don't really bother us much if we're doing that. ...Actually, it seems like there are a lot less shadows lately in general. I wonder why that is...?

I also saw that the Student Council elections are going on again, so good luck to everyone running! Though on that note, has anyone seen Kashiwazaki-san around?

[He figures she might have passed on, but... part of him kind of hopes not, as selfish as it may be.]

Recreating memories works too. Probably only important ones, since some things got repeated that really weren't and they didn't do anything. Memories that are important to the person, even if they didn't really say anything before that...

[ Yuri's voice sort of trails off toward the end there, but then perks up quickly with a subject change. Ish. Of sorts. It doesn't seem like a subject change to the untrained eye, but to Yuri it most definitely is. ]

Who's still an NPC? We can get working on them before anything, we'll figure out a plan of attack from there.

I'm back. And by that I mean I'm suppose I'm not an 'NPC' anymore, whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean. I get the basics I guess, whatever, moving on....

[ He's been without memories for 3 days and he's had it with this weird state of not knowing a single thing. Even without any memory of who he is, Kohaku hadn't really been comfortable letting the world know of this kind of vulnerable state at first. But now that he's beginning to feel his memory won't return any time soon, he's really gotten sick of hiding out in the house with only housemates around and uncertainty in his head. ]

My name's apparently Kohaku, but as that post yesterday said, I don't remember a single shred of my life. So tell me. Who the fuck am I. Don't try any unrealistic crap, I'm not in the mood for jokes. All I wanna know is what kind of person I was before this shit went down. What I did or whatever.

[ Relying on others like this really feels awkward, but at this rate he's willing to give it a shot. He sincerely hopes he actually spoke to a lot of people here before so that there will be any use to this post. ]

((ooc: i'll be kind of vague with what he remembers from after he was de-npced and what he's been told about the situation, seeing the actual thread of him being de-npced is not at that point yet. Now that things have calmed down at least little, after all the panic from before, it's time to look back at the losses and Yamashita doesn't find things to be very pretty. He's presented himself to the network in many many moods before , but this time Yamashita's voice just sounds kind of muffled as if he's speaking while clutching a pillow. ]

Hey..... a lot of people have disappeared, haven't they? Even though I went and befriended many people, a lot of them are gone already...
This is different from someone moving away in life, I get that... When someone leaves here there's not a good-bye party and you'll... you'll never meet agaaaaaaaiiiiiiin.

[ A break follows that outburst, he's collecting his thoughts. ]

I got a roommate lately but he's gone again. I didn't really get to know him much, actually, but I'd have liked to. There's Suzuhara, too, he was a good guy. And I-chan.... Ichigo Amano... I'd have liked to like... tell her something before she left. To be honest, I don't really know what. But it feels wrong to ... just .....

[ He clears his throat. He's not going to cry on audio, he's just not going to cry... It is so hard to grasp for him, people disappearing like that. In his ordinary little world before death, people didn't just leave. His world had been constant and he could rely on people being there. Now, it is like every moment could be the last. You'd think that after death you'd be done with thoughts of dying, but for Yamashita it's the opposite. The concept of death, of the end, as such only now rises to his conscious awareness. ]

Anyway... how's everyone holding up with the shadow situation? I hope those who are here now are fine at least...

Fatal wounds are effective on the NPCed real people. A bunch of shadows will come out, so anyone trying that better be prepared to eradicate them right away.

There's a possible side effect you ought to know about, though. After fully healing, the person woke up with no memories. It's been a couple days, and still nothing. The verdict's out on how long that lasts.

Attempt at your own risk. That is, assuming you'd be daring enough to try in the first place.

[ It's already hit the halfway point of the month, and normally, she wouldn't be doing something this stupid and ridiculous on the network. However! She thought that the information would be helpful for everyone to know and she has several questions she needs to ask.

First things first. A public service announcement to any girls who are reading this: if a guy named Taichi Yaegashi attempts to tell you his "biggest secret", tell me immediately and I'll sock him in the face as many times as you'd like.

Anyway, besides that, I guess I should tell you that I finally got back from being an NPC. It seems that quoting lines from your life works, no matter how stupid it is. Though it seems some shadows show up if you try to attempt that, so you'll have to be prepared if you want to try doing any of that.

And I know you guys are either beating up shadows or doing something a little more important, but I have two questions to ask you. One is important, and the other not so much. It's up to you to figure out which is more vital.

The first one is this: if you were to live in a house with the guy you like and there's not enough beds, would you ask them to sleep on the same bed as them? Sorry, it's pretty embarrassing, isn't it? (*ﾟｰﾟ)ゞ

And the second one is for those who are knowledgeable in the subject. I might ask it again if the people who are NPCs now know about it as well. Does anybody know anything about sadism besides the basics? ( ・◇・)？ I'm actually quite curious.

I think that's it for now, at least. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Camping's been fun for the past couple of days, but I think I've managed to work something out, buddies!

There were houses programmed into the world a while back. Some of you may have seen the town. The programmer put it in, which is why it took me so long, but I've managed to override the base coding for the houses.

Those of you familiar with computers might be able to think of it as a firewall, in which the shadows are considered viruses. There are only 10 houses, so please split into groups right away. If you have an NPC in custody, please let me know and I can sneak into the library just before midnight to rewrite their housing assignments from there.

Heh, it might only be a bandaid, but I hoooope it helps enough!

[ And there's a soft thwack as a young girl gets chopped on the head. Rin can't have her apprentice acting like chicken with its head cut off. ]

We should run away! I can't turn into a magical girl, and they might be really dangerous monsters! Maybe we can find Miyu-chan and Luvia-san to fight them for us!

[ Haruhi's getting pretty low on ammo, which is why Haruhi's not fighting with a gun, instead she's using a wooden shinai to cut through and dissipate any shadows in her way while keeping a close eye on her surroundings just in case a shadow pops out of nowhere or she sees someone screaming or in danger, basically.

( OOC: So, in order to reflect the fact that Saving the NPC ideas are being chosen tomorrow, I will be putting up a log early tomorrow for a meeting + anybody who wants to save [or try to save] NPCs on that exact day so we can have some organization, whatever. Though not all NPCs have be saved on that day, I'm just throwing the opportunity out there so all characters have an equal chance of actually throwing ideas into the pot + helping out! And hopefully this is okay with the mods, too - if not, I'll edit this appropriately.
