Hello there, my name is Mami Tomoe. I'm a third year middle school student, and it looks like tomorrow will be my first day in class here.
I suppose I'll need to go and find some supplies for my first day at school? I never would have guessed I would need to looking for a notebook again after I died. Does anyone have any recommendations?
[ Mami's voice sounds a little cheery, though she's always been so very great at putting on a facade that hid her true feelings. ]
I hope I won't be too far behind the lessons, if I am I might have to ask someone to help tutor me so I can catch up.
Well, thank you for your time.

[ On her first day Mami will be trying her best to find her classes, but she might need some helping making sure to go to the right room. Or perhaps she just looks lonely, sitting by herself as she eats, unable to convince herself to try and find someone to share lunch with. It might be obvious that there's something bothering her, perhaps the normalness of all she is suddenly hit with, after preparing herself for her own death.
In general though, she seems approachable, as she always has wanted to be, and wouldn't say no to a friendly face. ]

[ It is just a silly joke, one that she hopes Ichigo can appreciate. ]
I guess it's a little more difficult than just going to the market to pick up everything you need. But it's nice, to be able to cook with fresh ingredients too.

[ She's not really sure, and her tone of voice sounds like she's kind of questioning it. ]
I'd rather just not risk getting sick to begin with!
[ She smiles about the ingredients as she goes to hold the door open for Mami. ]
I wish they had a farmer's market here, they're the best!

[ Mami bows her head in thanks and enters into the room, her eyes wide as she looks around. She's just happy to see the stoves, the ovens, and everything else that makes it clear she's in a place for cooking. ]

[ She never got to go to one before, in her middle school, and always looked forward to one in high school. ]

[ She sounds a little worried about that. ] I'm sure the next one won't be though!

[ Mami looks over the pots and pans, selecting a nice bowl to set out on the table, before going to look for a recipe book. ]
How do you feel about making cookies?
no subject
[ But cookies? That's less upsetting. Ichigo seems to perk up. ]
Sure! What kind did you want to make? Some checkerboard or spritz cookies might be really cute..!

[ Mami only stops for a moment, taking in that news. It sounds all too familiar to what she had to deal with before she died, and it stings, but Mami tries not to let it affect her. She can think about it later. ]
I've never made checkerboard cookies before, do you think you can teach me?
no subject
Sure, I'd love to!

[ Mami has got most of what she imagines they will need, she's been making other types of cookies for a long time now. But she's solely in Ichigo's hands as her underclassman, ready to learn. ]

...Are you sure...it has to be such a precise amount?

[ Mami has always been a good baker, but she still had a lot to learn to catch up. So she nodded and went to get the scale, pouring out the butter and sugar into measuring cups, making sure to get the exact weights her partner had asked for. ]
You really do seem to know what you're talking about. [ She smiles, happy to be working with someone like Ichigo who she can learn from. ]
no subject
[ She looks happy about that though, smiling brightly. ] The important part is always to keep trying!
[ Ichigo starts doing her part as well. ]

[ Mami is busy measuring as instructed, only looking up to ask her question, before pouring a tiny bit of the sugar back to it's box. She is going to get it just right! ]
Just keep trying.. [ The words seem true enough, but she can't help but feel...jealous, that Ichigo has never likely dealt with the sort of problems that Mami was forced to handle. ]
no subject
[ Ichigo nods as she works, fairly quickly from practice, repeating the words. ]
If you don't give up, even when things get tough it means you still have a chance. So you always have to keep trying, because you don't have any chance if you're not looking for it.

That's a good outlook, Amano-san. [ Except, Mami did exactly that. She gave up in the biggest way a person could though, and still felt more than a little guilty over it, having never told anyone. So Mami can't help it if she looks a little distant for a moment or two. ]
